There are nice changes to the game: (Post cool one here)

Personal Loot Here is how looting works in today’s Raid Finder groups:
•The boss dies.
•The game randomly decides which items off of the boss’s loot table drop.
•The group rolls Need, Greed, or Pass on each item.
•If you were raiding with a group of friends, you might discuss who should get each item. Even if you ultimately lost, hopefully you are happy that a friend got an upgrade and that your group as a whole is now a little bit stronger.
•But if you’re in Raid Finder, you are quite possibly alone with a bunch of strangers.
•So, if you can Need, you probably do, because there’s no time for discussion, some of the rollers may be AFK, and even if you piss someone off, you aren’t likely to have to pay the social cost of doing so since you’ll never see them again.
•The highest roll wins.
•Drama ensues.

Here’s how the new Raid Finder system will work in Mists of Pandaria:
•The boss dies.
•The game automatically decides who won some loot, and gives those players a spec-appropriate item.
•Some players may still get mad, but hopefully they are mad at the laws of probability and not at the rest of the raid.

More can be found here.

It will be an interesting mechanic. I am enjoying trying to learn how to tank as monk right now.

This will hopefully work. I would love to try this. Epik, you're in Beta? How'd long it take you to get in? I just got my annual pass today.

This is a similar loot system that SWTOR said they were going to use earlier in their development. They didn't use it for some reason, but I thought it was a good idea.

It should be a good anti-ninja system, especially if you can trade the piece to someone else if it gives you a piece of gear you already have.

So far this will only be for LFR but they could implement it for normal and heroic raids if it works well.

I've had my account active since vanilla beta and had annual pass for about 2 months, still no beta invite.

I still dont see why it is so stinkin hard to only drop loot that the group can use... stop dropping cloth if there is no clothie in the group!

It is not.

It is, however, a way to make you replay the raid next week. Which is really the end goal for Blizzard. Make them grind it out!

Nothing is completely random.

Would you rather have it when a boss dies you type in the item that you want?

No, I would just simply want gear to drop for who is there. It doesn't have to be main spec, but it drives me crazy to have cloth, leather, and plate in the group and mail drops. It's just dumb.

You don't want to make disenchanting irrelevant tho.

You really think D/e would drop off that much with just getting rid of that percentage of unusable drops? I highly doubt it. If anything, it would make enchanting mats slightly more valuable, but not unobtainable.

Yeah I am just playing devils advocate, I think it should only drop usable stuff as well. The new loot system does that, thankfully.
