Monitor Screen waves during Bark noises

Its a...Trinitron, Sony, Multiscan 100sf. A very old CRT monitor.

Anyways, when the dog barks loudly, the screen of the monitor makes waves like the Ocean at beaches.

I also notice when the computer has the "Computer can be shut-down" screen, the monitor beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeps.

I was thinking of replacing it for a cheaper LCD since it is a old CRT monitor.
But, we still have a few "working" CRT monitors, I don't know if I should replace it.

Suggestions?

If I chew or bump my head, my older monitor looks as though it's waving. I don't know why, but that may have something to do with it.

Read it, saw it, don't want to try it. Interesting though.

20' LCDs now are over $200 CDN, I can wait till 21' LCDs are same price, or 20' are cheaper.
Your best bet is to buy an LCD monitor. LCD's use less power when they are running at full capacity than CRT's do when they are off... thats right.

Kinda pathetic in my opinion.

Edit!:

Not to mention they can be crisper than CRT's as well.

They even taste better.

Not gonna ask.

Dell used to use the best panels in their monitors (not sure of the manufacturer of them or if they still use the same panels.) Samsungs are good as well... I like Viewsonic myself.

If, for some reason... you decide to replace it with another CRT monitor, I strongly suggest you replace it with a Viewsonic. I had an A90f (heavy as lead) but it was built like a tank. My cat threw up into it not once or twice, but three times. It came out like a champ once everything dried up.

Because of that I am partial to Viewsonic.

Their monitors are built well, and what you pay for is definitely what you get.

What Videocard have you got?

If your getting a LCD Monitor then if you play resource intensive games on a lower end PC then get a low native resolution LCD otherwise if you get like a
1920x1200 LCD Widescreen it would be slow on resource intensive games.

This computer has a Integrated Video Card, my computer however, uses PCI-E 7900GS. My current LCD monitor is a HP 17' with speakers, it cost me $500+ with 16ms and extended coverage.

I was thinking of switch this computer with my HP 17' LCD, buying myself a cheap LCD with lower than 5ms and that has speakers.

Is there a limit size for a LCD monitor with my 7900GS?

I assume video cards like the 9800GX2 can use over 24' LCD, but my 7900GS, 20' Max? 19' preferred?

Normally, I use 800x600 for CS/CS:S, 640x480 for SC/BW due to size limit.

Anything higher, the font and icons are too tiny for me.

My monitor's max is 1280x1024, so I haven't gone any higher than 1024x786.
