one2dredd

Tribe of Judah Aion Chapter Leader
Ok folks I need count em 1 fame to get to rank 3. I could have gotten this whenever since Friday night. But I decided I wanted to get my Rank 3 with my guild. We will be starting at 9 EST and we will be doing ViM. So if you would like to come pls sign up and let me know you will be there! Here is what we need:

6 R/W Trappers aka ViM Trappers (Build listed on this forum and website)

2 W/R (also on wesite and forum)

I would also like to see what a touch ranger can do in HA

So if you would like to try a touch ranger let me know

R/N is a touch ranger build also listed on this forum.

hehe i was running touch ranger the other day in random arenas, managed to net 3 glad points in the same day...

Neat, so does that mean you'll join us? Its always great to have you in our PvP groups - and I'm not sure any of the rest of us have enough experience with a touch ranger to play it effectively.

I'll be there FTW! Congratulations Dredd, our reigning king of HoH!

Sure a week is enough, we pvp 12 hours a day... really the best time to pvp is in the afternoon during the lull when europe is getting tired and america hasnt picked up their pace yet.

Hmm...don't think a week would be enough. I'm only at 31 Fame...

But the sentiment is appreciated! :D

I only have like 15 fame lol.
Ill try to be on tonight not for sure if ill make it on time, might be little late.

I have two fame. I should be able to double that tonight.

I'd like to run that touch ranger build I have in HA before it gets nerfed.

ViM is a pressure build rather than a spike build, right? Two touch rangers combined with 4 ViM trappers should be interesting. Degen from Fire/Bleeding plus touches should be deadly.

True if ranger's move to much and don't have spring's up then we will get killed. So we would have to have ranger's stay in tight ball and keep springs up while moving fast enough to keep alive.

If the rangers move too much, we don't have TIME to set traps! That was a big problem Friday. If we are always moving, also, there aren't very many traps, so we aren't causing much damage. Plus, we can't get HS down for us AND the warriors!

Edit: And the warriors don't know where the Healing Springs are...minor detail.

Every time we've dropped below the standard 6 trappers so far, we've regretted it. Even with 6 we often have trouble getting enough damage on the opening monk, and there were several opponents in PvP who were right at the brink of death, but we just couldn't take it quite far enough before they got healed. I don't know how the whole touch-ranger and wells thing will factor in, but I think the more we cut out trappers for something else, the more we'll find ourselves short of the mass, concentrated damage we need to make this build work. Just my 2cents of course! ;)

The point my wife brought up about moving is an important one, but that is really the whole tricky part of our build. Move too abruptly and too far with the trappers, and we get spread out. Move too consistently and our healing springs become virtually useless. Don't move at all and we get spiked. Its definitely a balancing act.

From my experience the group goes great till someone doesnt place down spring for awhile, then all the trappers heath dips to below 75% then its a ranger-maul fest for the enemy team.

Congratulations Dredd! He showed us his deer emote just a couple times.

One thing I realized last night. We have gotten better at working together. Our next step is to start working on coordinating our movements when needed. The strongest counter to our build besides a good spike is for the opposing teams to scatter out of and spread our traps out. When this happens, we need to start looking for opportunities to keep them from running away. Body blocking will be the most effective method for this. The head trapper should watch for opportunities to pin an opposing player in a corner and have the other trappers move in to help hold them in our traps. A barbed trap to cause crippling should also be a priority with this tactic. This will definately take a little experience and practice, but I think it could be a big help.
