I'm just curious how many of you guys have heard of mocktrial, and how many of you guys are actually in it?

Heh. Our team went to the SC County Invitational. First "real" practice before competitions. It went great, even though i scewed up a couple of details. Reallly fun. and Reallly funNY.

-lawyer is starting to stand
*objection your hon- nevermind.

Sam - why are you looking at me?
Judge - 'Cause you're gorgeous
*sam puts his hand through his hair

we nailed the first team, but the second team, it was a little in their favor.

cross-examinations are fun to watch. >: D

I was in that class for a year, lead prosecution counsel on one, we dominated the other team. Our teacher had us dress in full suits and act and look very professional, if we didnt say "thank you your honor" after anything (even if the judge shot us down with a substain) we would loose points off our grade.

Yes, there is some hilarious things that can happen.

forensic specialist entered into the record as an expert witness with 7 yrs experience.

Daugter of the victim, 15 yrs old

our lawyer: "you honor, i would like to make a motion to consider this witness as a expert daughter"
judge: "why?"
lawyer: "she has been a daugter for 15 yrs and is an expert in it"
judge: "does the oppossing councel object?"
opposing counsil: "no, no (suddering) your honor"
judge: "motion denied"

One of my friends did the unthinkable in mock trail. he got a witness on the stand dismissed and "roasted" (as we called it) without asking a question and thier testimony thrown out.

Yep, I competed for three years in Mock Trial competitions when i was in High School. It very entertaining at times and really a good overall experience.

the fudge???? he put the witness on the stand and then removed?

Hi, my name is Tobie Keetan.
*ready for questions
Your honor, may this witness be excused?
Yesss.......
*witness leaves looking confused

THAT is stupid... uh....??? i don't get it.

The other laywer on prosecution started asking their witness questions.

Our defense lawyer kept objecting, leading, lack of foundation, ask and answer, hearsay, the witness never got a chance to answer a question.

The prosecution lawyer finally said "no further questions your honor" and sat down and started crying. Our defense lawyer said "no further questions" without asking any, witness was dismissed without a question.

At my high school, mochtrial class is the most popular and was for seniors only, there was only 1 class of 28 people for it. We lost a match for the first time in 24-0 strait wins last year second competition.

ooohhh, yours is a class. ours is a club. XD
mmm... mon and wed, 1.5 hr meetings.

anddude, lool, how can you object so much and ACTUALLY WIN, unless the other team is totally careless in writing their direct? they must've been really bad.

We had to do one for American Government one time. I got Oral Roberts' granddaughter (who was in my grade) to admit that she swerved into oncoming traffic to hit a small defenseless mammal.

Good times. :)
