The Great Commission

16Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. 17When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. 18Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in[1] the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."

In the Spirit of getting things back to a Christian keel. I was wondering what this means to you and what you are doing to bring forth your calling in God. Again I ask you do not turn this into a debate. IF you have challenges with what someone posts PM them, If you are looking for clarification. Respond according and with the realm of good taste.

We are all called by Christ for both this and my other post. I figured it would be a great way to share, witness, come together and maybe inspire other Christians who are not walking in their oinnting.

If you are not a Christian and have nothing positive to add please save you thoughts for a more appropriate discussion. If its a serious question we welcome it. I want to avoid attacks.

Based off the Verse above what are you as a christian doing to walk in your calling

yup.

I believe first and foremost, in order to teach anyone what God has commanded, I must know myself what His teachings are.  Therefore, daily study in the Word is a must.  Secondly, to be a "sermon in shoes."  That is, to live what I am learning in Christ, by his grace and mercy, as a living example to others.  Thirdly, to be a witness whenever I am given the opportunity, in effect, always remembering that the Word of God will not come back void, to speak it, puts it forth for God's work to be accomplished.

So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.   Isaiah 55:11

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.   Romans 1:16

Lastly, for those that I have the blessing of winning to the LORD, to encourage them to be baptized.  In addition, to be a part of a soul-winning church that is interested above all else, in seeing others come to Christ, be baptized, and grow in the knowledge of the LORD.

The power that is given to me in verse 18, I feel, is that awe-inspiring time when I may not know what to say in witnessing or speaking of the LORD to others, when the Holy Spirit gives power in the Words to say, and in the Word having power to save to the uttermost!

Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.  Hebrews 7:25

Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee. Deuteronmy 13:10

God promises to be with us, to never leave or forsake us. I think that is a promise to every Christian, but there is a special closeness to those that teach His Word.

And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things! Romans 10:15

well the major command here which is the only imperative verb in the greek language here is Make disciples. so that is my oppion i am fullfilling the great commission, because i am doing my best to make disciplies of people in my sphere of influences.

Its easier to talk to a stranger about Jesus then your best friend.

But in one sense, our sphere of influence includes everybody we can communicate with.

exactly like GP said, i dont know about you but i consider my sphere anyone that sees me, from the person who takes my order at burger king to my best friend or roommate.
