Sadly, I didn't go to that, my father dragged me to the old pipe organ in my usual church. And I had to move in to college at 12:00 that day as well, so it was 8:00 am early service for me. There were some professional recordings done, I'll contact the person in charge of those and see if I can get a hold of the jazz worship service.
That article was also in the usual paper as well.
Anyway, my friend (a fellow trombonist in the jazz band) was visiting florida and he was wearing a Neenah High School shirt. A man approached him and said, "You from Neenah?". My friend replied "Yeah, why?". The man said, "They've got a really great jazz scene up there, we try to get there every year for jazz fest". My friend replied, "Get there? Where are you from?" The man said, "Alabama"
Interesting...someone down in alabama makes the trek to wisconsin and comments on it's great jazz scene, yet we have not a single Jazz radio station receiveable round these parts. Although I know there are plenty of clubs to play at around here.
