Anyone else got this game? I bought it when it came out yesterday solely based on the article on an article on kotaku. I quickly convinced three other friends to buy it, and promptly jumped into 4 player co-op, using a skype conference call for communication...
...And proceeded to have one of the most hilariously chaotic gaming sessions in our history of playing videogames. There was yelling, laughing and tears (of laughter) as we slowly learned what did what -usually at the cost of friendly fire killing someone off (except in the case of the Healing Mines, but that was a special case).
It is a game that doesn't take itself seriously, and is definitely not for the extremely competitive player (I could see people getting mad because of teammates goofing off/making mistakes). I dunno what it would be like solo, and I'm not even sure why someone would want to play it that way. 4 player co-op with voice communication is definitely the way to go.
And one of the best parts about the game: It's only $10 on steam.
Note: For those who don't know Paradox games, they are notoriously buggy on immediate release, and tend to be patched to perfection over the course of a couple weeks. Magicka had some issues yesterday, but thanks to a 500mb patch, we didn't have any issues today and this is one of the smoothest releases I've seen from them.
