Looking for input

We have been going strong for just over two months. There are a couple of level 60s in the guild, a few level 50's, a slew of 40s, a gaggle of 30s and a murder of those below 30.

What I would like to do is begin to setup more in guild support and activities. Some of things I am working on to see happen in the very near future:

1. New guild ranks to enable leaders the ability to promote members for recognition of exemplary behaviour or completing challanges.

2. Bringing in a spiritual element into the game by having an online prayer service using the prayer newsletter as a guide every Sunday.

3. Promote guild bonding through guild only activities such as the race from SW to IF and other activities.

4. Promote guild awarness through participation on raid instances and on opposite faction town or in defense of towns.

5. Prepare online documentation for items such as guild\party\alt loot rules and guildie contributed tips.

--- --- --- ---

I have some ideas around item 3 and 4 and because these activities are for the members, I would like some input from you as to what kind of activities you would be interested in doing.

Think about activities low (1 to 30) mid (20 to 50) and high (40 to 60) would be able to do. Power leveling has been thankfully nerfed in WoW, so please no suggestions on doing that.

Please, no critiques on suggestions, its is an open forum to give idea's. You can work on somebody elses idea by adding to it (ie...idea number 1: have a higher level 30 guide people through the deadmines, idea number 2: building on number 1, if you have two level 30's (a higher lvl 30 and a lower lvl 30) guiding people, you could also do the stockade in slightly more time.)

Making a suggestion of something that has already been done that you enjoyed doing and would like to do it again, is highly encouraged.

About number four I had a few ideas for fun Dungeon raids, and or pvp raids.

An area that has a lot of constant action but is not full of maximum level characters is Grom'Gul in Stranglethorn Vale, we could form a raid in Duskwood with anyone willing to join us and head down together. If we are successful and take over the town we can wait for the Horde Zeplin to come in (every few minutes) and we can take it and assault near the Undercity or Orgrimmer even if we all die it should be a lot of fun getting off the horde controled Zeplin in the middle of there zone. This would be best suited for members over fourty as a mount is helpful but it would not be required as we would not do to much running.

Also I think it would be awesome to do more instance runs, having members that have done the earlier instances before either guide the lower members or perhaps form a raid group and guide large groups of members through so they can do it easier on there own in the future.

On loot rules most of the Guild members I have played with use the same loot rules when playing with eachother giving the item to who ever can get the most use out of it or if multiple people need it having them roll among eachother. As far as grouping with non-guildies in the later dungeons most people roll on all BOE items unless someone can obviously use it, on bop and set item drops instance groups usualy only have people who can use the item roll and usualy only allow you to win a single blue or set item per run to give everyone a chacne to win something.

Loot rules pretty standard across game ect,

All BoE (bind on equip) is fair game to roll on, afterwards its up to said player to do with it as he/she pleases, most usually give it away if someone in the group needs it.

BoP (bind on pick up) is roll only if needed.

Need before greed is a dumb loot system, i dont like uses because there is an "exploit" to it.

Basicly if you do not have the weapon profecancy trained, or are high enough level to use said item (even if you are 1exp away from the level) you can not roll for the item. now if you ever run an instance and are the highest level or trained in all weapon profecancies, and you have this loot rule set, you can and will most likely get many of the items, (exspecially war/paladins since they can use just about everything).

Also nothing says you can not do a church service or anything like that in SW at the chapel , no we can not say it over general/yell/ or /say because it may be a violation of ToS according to some (and GM's only listen to complainers anyway) but we can all do a /join ToJ which gives us our own private channel to use and we can do a service that way (with mages traveling from major cities should not be a problem they can portal all the low level players)

I Love my guild mates / guild but i much rather do pick up groups for instances/questing usually. this is not ment to bash anyone, but most of the Choose joy groups (with the exception of Russel/Melko for the most part) i have been with have been horrible groups, coming from communication, to play style. maybe i knowtice since i was in the beta and know how every instance/quest should be done on alliance side (below 45).

I would promote more guild raids, i know i have been on 5 raids and never once was another choose joy'er there. or we could even run around doing group PVP in hillsbrad/STV killing the horde until they send packs of 60's on use and then just retreat to a new zone.

I have enjoyed playing with you all but there are a few things id like to see.

1) more guild quest groups. Non guild quest groups flal apart very fast when people get wiped and i tend to see alot of %, @,!,^ you get the idea... guild groups wont do that.

2) i know i didnt participate in this BUT, i wanna be on when the Race to Stormwind from Ironforge is going on. We cant hold guild events late at night b/c some members such as myself have school the next morning. A good time would be around 8est (5pst) or around there, to start events.

3) sermons and meetings would be a great way to start to get people involved in the guild and in groups. Sundays on Cenarius is a fantastic step forward (more ppl need to have the /ginvite ability imo...) =D

Theres my 2 cents

I would like to add that being a lowbie in WoW is very discouraging, especially when you get to 15+. The quests are increasingly difficult, and it's hard to find good party members to do them with. In general you tend to feel rather alone and left out (since you can't hang out with play with the 30+ crowd). I don't know what can be done in our own guild to pacify this, but it's just a problem I've encountered and should be taken into consideration.

Oh, WoW, thanks for the input guys, its all really great stuff. Good challanges to overcome. Keep them coming :)

ummm MaxX i have never had trouble finding parties and so forth, any level character. usually the hardest time i am actually having is higher lvls with my mage finding people to do instances and quests there..

I understand where maxx is coming from. At one point I was having problems finding groups from within the guild, which is perfered for numurous reasons. My problem was I could only spend "x" amount of time on the game. That meant most everybody was much further ahead of me in levels. Then Christmas came and there was a glut of players below my level so I was alone in the middle. Now the christmas gang is the same level as I, and we hang about quite often, but even they are beginning to surpass me in levels because they can spend "x + y" amount of time.

Personally, I prefer groups made from the guild. You don't have to worry about ninja looters, people rolling on everything, even though they don't need it, asking for an item is just natural and giving up an item for somebody else who needs it is right. In non-guild groups, its free for all. Warriors are rolling on daggers because their alt rogue can use it. And trying to impose some kind of order often leaves you on the blunt end of some rude remark.

There is a general consensus amongst a majority of the guild members that they would prefer to party with other guildies first. And equal levels are prefered in most cases. I don't discourage grouping with non-guildies, I think it is one way we can be used as witnesses, through our actions and behaviour online. I do encourage grouping with guildies as much as possible because the online experience tends to be positive and fruitful that way.

The issue is, how do we deal with the lvl gap so everybody has a chance to play with at least a few other guildies in a group. This is something that I would love to see a solution to.

I have the same kind of problems as MaxX is having with the groupage issue. But to solve it i have learned to wait for the bonus feature to go up quite a bit then level and go back and do the hard quests. instances are quite a different issue though. I hate asking a group if i can join them in the instance they are already in (like Deadmines) because that means that one of them has to turn around and help you reach the rest of the group, in turn, the person that turns around recieves less loot. Also, you dont know where they are. But the instance isnt as guild or group issue, its a timing issue.

Once you get to higher instances, looting rules change a bit. Because you would normally be raiding with 10-15 people, you are generally allowed one blue for the run. If you roll on something and win it, you're out of all future rolling for the run. Also, you have to get to know what your class set is: many groups only allow you to roll on your set only, unless no one else needs it. Many other rules will change depending on group, however.

Doing instances with guildies is always better than joining a pickup group. If you've had a bad experience with guildies, then it will be better in the long run to help them if they do something wrong or incorrectly. When something drops, you would much rather have a guildie win it than some random person who you've never met before. Also, it's much better to get organized and to do things together. In pickups, you never know how good the other players are, or how greedy.

At level 60, after doing numerous pickups, I have realized it is NOT the way to go. Too many bad experiences with ninjaloots, morons, and/or horrible players as well as the difficulty to find a group (Too many paladins and rogues).

If you guys ever have any more planned events, I would love to join, just PM me in advance and I'll see if I can join.

please stay tuned...I'm working through some details on some "guild and guild friendly only" stuff. I want to make sure that everybody in the guild, regardless of level and skill, can have something to look forward to.

Free money...but you will have to work for it.
Free levels...but you will have to work for it.
Free grief...yeah, I am giving it to you know.

LoL
