and Maid... a pygmy goat? and "another" cat? HOW MANY DO YOU HAVE?

Well, dorkelf and I have two cats: beautiful black and white animals, who are brothers. But there are a total of eight in the house, belonging to the other residents. There are also four possums that come eat on the back porch. (They like the bird food: it contains seeds and dried fruits.) They almost count, since I have named them.

I've had as many as thirty or so cats at a time, when I was growing up. (In a suburban apartment, not a house in the country...) I've had a pet possum, turtles, hamsters, guinea pigs, gerbils, rats, mice, a tarantula, snakes, rabbits, and dogs. I think that's everything. Oh, except birds. We've had parakeets, canaries, finches, and cockatiels, and we raised a baby robin once until it was old enough to release. And we had a lizard once, and lots of fish, and a crayfish.

But dorkelf says I grew up with a zoo, and I can't have one now. All I have are my sweet cats. :(

It never really seemed like a lot...not then. Of course, now it makes my two cats seem really lonely...there are too many places with no cats.

So your gonna be one of those Old ladies with 50 cats that no one wants to visit because it stinks?

Haha, I was just thinking the same thing. "Crazy cat lady" At least she doesn't live alone. :D
No, my mom has that title already...but she doesn't live alone. My crazy grandmother lives with her. (Crazy as in "paranoid schizophrenic," not as in "what a wacky lady!")

Three dogs, about nine cats; sometimes she has birds or guinea pigs. But she lives in a sorta-rural suburb, so the dogs have the run of the backyard. The cats just come and go as they please; her lot backs up to a really great wooded park.

I have fish...they poop in their house and not mine. :D

I gave up house pets (or any pet except fish) years ago. I like my house to stay clean.

Oh, cat hair is a decorative accent. And a fashion statement... (Do I even own any clothes that aren't...embellished...with cat hair?)

About two years ago the decorating mags said every home needs something black. "It's the new white." I decided my cats fulfill that requirement. :D
