leveling guide

Actually, with the upcoming changes, that guide will be ineffective. They're increasing XP per quest and reducing XP per level. that guide will have you doing grey quests within 10 levels of starting, no matter where you pick it up.

I doubt Jame will update it, either. Blizz added new quests in Hinterlands, which fall right in line with the other Q-chains...but Jame didn't mention them. I did them anyway, because all the quest targets were on the way to other stuff.

I believe Blizz said they are adding about 60 quests to Dustwallow for the high 30 / low 40 range. I always disliked the 39/40 leveling. I always tend to be ahead on quests (like all are red :) ) and so those quests tend to be mount-oriented.

Unless those new quests are added, that guide I bet won't be very useful.

And I find guides, while they can help some focus on what to do, I find if you naturally focus on grabbing every quest and *doing* them, no guide is needed. You will level :)

yeh, it's just that the guide is laid out for fastest leveling...which is nice when you're pushing your 7th character towards the outlands.... :)

However, I really wouldn't recommend the quick leveling guides for anyone on their first trip thru. it really does take the enjoyment out of leveling. There is definitely something to be said for reading the quests along the way.

Mike and I have been using Brian Kopp's guide for our alts, it's handy to me in that I tend to lose focus and spend a lot of time on "what should I do next"? And I hate... repeat, HATE endless grinding. The leveling guides help us stay focused and push towards various goals. Even with the XP changes, I'll still use the leveling guide as long as it's practical. I'd like to be able to hit 70 and still have 3-4 zones to quest in for cash... I hit 70 with Brynnia at the very end of Netherstorm and only had Shadowmoon Valley left to quest in.

I'm looking forward to doing the new quests with my pally/mage... I'm really excited that they are pushing forward with the storylines in Dustwallow.

The best thing for keeping quests for cash in Outlands is to get lots of xp in instances. This will leave soloing quests available for cash at the end. Not something that I was able to do, but was something I thought of aftewards.

it's a toss-up - there area lot of the repeatable rep quests that you can do only until honored...so doing those first, *then* hitting instances, then going back later is slightly better.

most instances only give rep to honored, I made sure to farm the HH instances until I hit honored, didnt do as much CE instances because I turned in plant parts to honored so I didnt need to. It helps a lot because doing all the quests in those 2 zones put me within one SH and SV run from hitting revered with both and getting my heroic keys that much faster. Which becomes a moot point in 2.3 when you can get heroic keys at honored, which is silly imo, whats to keep lower levels out of them now and being able to get your alt/friend/etc primal nethers.
