Level 70 epic mount?

I know atleast Deed has his, but does anyone else? If so, how did you all save for it? I started saving for it, for the most part, as soon as I started playing my character. I don't buy anything from the AH. I sell all of my greens/blues that I find, at the AH. I have skinning at 375 so everything I come across that is skinable (is that a word?), I skin and sell everything at the AH. I even stopped tailoring for a bit and am selling the cloth at the AH. Even with all of this, I am only up to 2800ish gold (I need 6k). Seriously....what gives?

Does anyone have any type of recommendations to throw out there on what I might be missing? Maybe it's just that the gold mark for the lvl 70 epic is really high. I thought it would be obtainable by the time I hit lvl 70 if I saved everything, but maybe I'm flat out wrong.
 
I think there are 3 of us who have it currently. The secret of saving 5000g is actually simple. Quest, quest and then quest again. The gold alone from nether and smv from questing and selling the quest rewards will net you >5000g.

Are you referring to the gold from Netherstorm and SMV that is obtained at level 70? I just finished up all of my soloable quests in Nagrand (I still have quite a few group quests) and I'll be heading up to Blades Edge. I'm hoping to hit lvl 70 before heading into Netherstorm or SMV, that's why I ask. If you mean pre-70, I think I'll head there now. heh
 
wonder if you dont want to quest, your bird arrives a few minutes later? Oh I have been told I need a flying mount for some instances. Dont want it but is this true?

Yes it is true. All 3 places in Netherstorm require a flying mount. Quite a few quest chains require the flying mount as well. Basically, it's required at lvl 70.
 
I thought there were bridges in Nehterstorm. Its not like I finished all the quests there but found bridges wherever I wanted to go... Just making sure there are islands and instance entrances that are only avaliable via flying mount. (dont want to drop 1000g if I dont need to)

Yes, the 3 instances in Netherstorm require a mount. They are "required" because you can not summon in Netherstorm so forget the 'Lock idea. The only way to get to Botanica, Mechnaar, and Tempest Keep are by means of the Flying Mount. To get into Kara, you have to have a flying mount as well techinally. Arcatraz is needed for the quest line and that is in Tempest Keep, which requires a flying mount.
