So, I was playing with my son last night. They game got more and more laggy as we advanced.

I changed my video settings, restarted and did all kinds of things none of which helped.

Anyone every had this experience?

I am running Win7 Ultimate and have plenty of horse power for the game.

I reformatted a month ago...
Have you defragged the hard drive since the wipe and reload? It's usually a good idea to defrag after re-installing the OS and essential applications.

Have you tried to defrag the game through the properties in steam. You can also try to verify the integrity in the game properties too.

Could have been a problem with your ISP. I had a similar problem a couple of years ago. After Comcast did some checking, it turned out that a neighbor had some faulty equipment which was inducing noise into the system.

Son was playing same game on same WiFi and was only me.

Do you mean latency or fps lag? I was having some problems with all source games awhile back turns out there were some issues with an update and my video drivers. Updated to the newest and it seemed to work.

Also some people have issues with the multicore settings and memory settings in L4D2 mess with those if its FPS lag.

You don't have any background programs running that would cause your computer to hickup do you? I forget how much ram your Sager has (3 or 4gb maybe) but that could certainly cause problems.
