Kutless - Christian Rock

Tribe of Judah StarCraft Series Chapter Leader
The little known band Kutless has released their second album, Sea of Faces, the beginning of this month and you need to go check it out.

For those of you unfamiliar with the band Kutless is a relatively new Christian rock group who released their debut album just last summer, 2003.  Their sophomore release, Sea of Faces, is a very impressive sounding album that features mostly hard rock but also includes some softer and more melodic songs.  The vocals are outstanding, the guitars are pounding, and everything has a very positive and up-beat feel to it.

What else can I say, just go check it out for yourself!

I hope you enjoy the band, and please post your opinions and comments back here after you hear them.

i heard of kutless like 5 yrs ago...

Kutless is good, I saw them in concert a year ago, they opened for Audio Adrenaline and Mercy Me when they were on tour. Not my favorite tho, they are better on CD then in concert by far.

Most bands are. Heh, and it's not usually the band, it's the producer with his many music programs he has on his handy dandy computer. They patch all the bad sounding stuff up.

I like only about 1 song that Kutless sings, called 'Run'. But I don't listen to bands that get much heavier than kutless does; I like to keep it between Contemporary Christian and Christian Rock, but that's just me.

kutless is playing here in less than a month... but i think its sold out.  With thousand foot krutch and FM static
Dont call bands that thousand foot krutch opens for "little" I'll invent a program to slap people over the internet if you do.

Run is good. Same here, Kutless is about as "hard" of rock I like. Personally, I perfer Audio Adrenaline and Relient K, Newsboys are ok too. John Reuben and the Grits for christian rap.

Dr. Tek and Sir Ryan, you really need to check out this new release.

This almost sounds like an entirely new band, they are much more refined and experienced than their older album.  Although they can be repetitive, as Maxx said, I feel that they are up to par with a lot of the more popular bands, and I think this release blows their other record out of the water.  That is how good I feel this album is.

This band opened for bleach and john reuben a bit back.  They are called Number One Gun.  If you do want to check out a younger band this band would be good.  Their instrumentals are great, vocals are at least decent.  Their drummer was insanely good.  They come from somewhere in cali.  Their drummer and lead guitar have known each other for about 3 years and they have been together as a band for about 1-2 years. www.numberonegun.com Check em out.  My friend said "every song on their cd is so good"  They seem to have a bad server though... very slow... lots and lots of buffering.  Just listen to the record from 2k3 instead of 2k2 its much better.

Sorry to bring this thread back up, but here's my take on the new CD that I just picked up. Its by far one of the best releases Ive heard in hte past few years. They did a good job on thier sophmore release, a lot better then some bands have. Sea of Faces is definetly worth picking up if you like a little bit harder rock.

I saw them in concert recently (last night) with TFK and FM Static and Falling up.  TFK and Falling up were definately better.  Kutless is ok.  Their new cd isn't good.  First of all, the quality of the music isn't as good as their old stuff- it doesn't rock as hard.  It also sounds more like their sound was too produced instead of real music if you know what i mean.  Kutless was ok though. You should check out TFK (thousand foot krutch) and Falling up, for sure!

Arf..

kutless = good
demon hunter > kutless
kutless first album > second album
TFK phenomenon = awful

i have heard old kutless and new. i honestly personally like the new stuff more.

I saw Kutless live with Skillet and a band called Justified a while back ( like 2 yrs ago i think) it was a little heavier than i like. the new CD i think is a good mix and really good for getting them alot of radio airtime.

First time I saw Kutless is when they opened at an Audio Adrenaline and MercyMe concert, of all places. At first, I didnt like what I had heard, whoever was on the boards for them wasnt doing to well mixing the main outputs, plus I was about 3 feet from the stage doesnt help matters either. It wasnt until I heard their song "Run" that I gave them another look. Ive liked their stuff since then, and look forward to what they will do in the future.

Actually Falling Up really stole the show, and I like the album Phenomenon.  I didn't really hear FM static because they only played four of their songs, but what they played was good. And Rizz yes... Kutless's first album is good. Its kind of like Jars of Clay. Thier first album rocked, but much afraid, If I left the Zoo, and The Eleventh Hour were only ok. They each had some decent songs in them. However, I think Who We Are Instead is alot better.
