From the overview of Elementalists on Guildwars.com as it describes the class's future in Nightfall:

There is more hope for Earth Magic though, as it gains another decent utility damage spell in Ebon Hawk, which might make players bring a combo of Ebon Hawk, Stoning, and Glowstone for the Weakness, knockdown, and Energy management between their Obsidian Flame spikes.

There are enough other references to other games and movies in GW that I'm sure they've just been waiting for a chance to throw that one in.

There's another good reference in a pair of Paragon skills:

"Never Give Up!" and "Never Surrender!"
 
Rodgort's Invocation.
Flip Rodgort and you get Trogdor the Burninator!

The new nightfall elite "It's just a fleshwound.", "Victory is mine!", and "None shall pass!" are all references to Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

Also my favorite reference is my beloved hammer Vera dropped by Jayne Forestlight. This is of course a reference to one of my favotite tv shows Firefly in which there is a character named Jayne Cobb who has a very favorite gun named Vera.

There are SOOO many references in this game its rediculous.

I never really played pazaak, I made so much money (in KOTOR 2, that is, cuz in that game you get boatloads more cash) selling special armor that random things dropped... 20k credits in the middle of the game. Wewt wewt!
 
The reference to Firefly reminded me. There's a quest on the Luxon side that you pick up in Cavalon called "The Halcyon Job". It starts a string of quests that revolve around the crew of the Leviathan named Halcyon. The crew is bascially the crew of the Serenity with different names. The least name creative is Arani. They are complete with quotes, like that of Hannai (River) "I can kill you with my brain" and "I think I swallowed a bug."
 
Good catch DZ, I missed that as I keep to the Kurzick side. During my exploits on the Luxon side however I found a quest called "More Cowbell". Haha

The luxon/kurzick rivalry is just sad... They should have an option to declare your side in your name, then we could have some serious fun...
