Just when I thought ...

I've seen all those before several years ago, just didn't realize he was putting into a book form...not sure what I think about that.

I think it would be a great opportunity to share Bible stories with small children. I'm sure they would love to talk about the pictures and maybe even try to build some of the scenes.

Other than that, not given it much thought.

EDIT: I would review it before I would show it to a child. And I just realized it said "as told" so if there is text, I'd want to make sure it was accurate as well.

There are portions that are a bit crass - making words visual sometimes comes out that way. Definitely check it out before sharing a portion with young children.

From the article eraserhead linked:
Is it a bird? Is it a parody? Is it blasphemy? Whatever else the "Reverend" Brandon Smith Powell's work is, it is related to the Bible, is made entirely of LEGO's and has fascinated millions of viewers.

For more than a decade, Smith has been totally immersed in the Herculean task of illustrating the entire Bible, all 66 books, with LEGOs alone. His efforts have resulted the most comprehensive Bible illustration effort to date, with close to 4,000 scenes, four books and immense attention from the press, web fans and even officials of the church.

It is interesting, if a little sad, that the "Reverend" is actually a self-confessed atheist.

well that's sad...
not to open up a whole can of worms but I prefer to distance myself from atheists. Just... have a bad experience with them.

I agree with Jabberwocky. Where would I be if some Christians hadn't taken the time to reach out to me when I wasn't a believer? In the same hopeless life leading to damnation and eternal separation that current atheists are in.

I will admit LOJ posted on this a year ago and I went page by page through his entire website. Although some of his parts are ok, MOST of his stuff is very wrong, if not evil intented.

He not only takes scripture out of context he makes God out to be a bad guy in the Flood, and many other stories of scripture. It is only humor to people who hate God, it will not entertain believers who consider God in the highest regard.

I strongly suggest not showing to your kids. He even has depictions of sexual evils in blocks, Just be careful.
