Just a thought about habits in the forums...

How many people, out of curiosity, prefer to simply use quick response rather than opening a new page just to type the exact same thing? Why [or why not]?

I prefer quick response because it totally puts it on right then with no new windows and loading... i'm an impatient person/like to have the least possible windows open on computers at all times (just some OCD thing i guess)/im an opportunist.

I usually use the quick reply (as I am doing now). It started when things in RD were considerably more challenging than they are now and clicking on the post reply button was just one more step that I needed to take. I will usually use the post reply if I am posting something lengthy, like the Bible Study, but other than that, the quick reply gives me all of the tools I need.

i even use this for really long ones (unless i want to quote someone, i always click Quote) in fact if i felt like typing a lot now i would just spill my heart out and make this quick reply nice and lengthy... but i'm not in the mood now >.>

i figure that using the quote tabs tool and just copy/pasting in this window would make even long quotes easier, but a habit is a habit, and the way im doing it now is just fine for me

QR unless its some long topic or i need to qoute someone

I always do "Post New Reply" so I have the text field centered on my screen, as well as additional formatting options.

QR is great till you want to insert a smiley or format, then i bash my head on my desk. keyboards will do anything to avoid my house...

I just quick reply for my usual posts, if I write a long post I usually go with Word or something so that if my browser crashes, or I accidentally do something I didn't want to, I won't have just wasted a bunch of time.

My browser never crashes :P

I have mine tricked out and have a crapload of plugins. That situation wouldn't happen if I wouldn't move from the page when I'm writing the thing, but I get bored when I'm writing long posts, and my mind wanders and I sometimes remember something I should check out on the internet which might contain something on the page that would conflict with one of my other 25 open tabs and cause my browser to crash.
