Job listing scams?

My wife has humorously (and accurately) dubbed craiglist "dregslist." I followed suit and dubbed CareerBuilder "SpamBuilder." If you're unemployed, you already know that many listings on craigslist and CareerBuilder are scams.

But I came across this listing that led me to this link. I have my suspicions, but a quick Google-fu chop for "remotedatabackups scam" turned up nothing of use.

What do you all think? Is this a scam? It smells funny, to be sure.

/gets mah ahnold voice out

"DUN DOO EEET. Aggghhhraeoueeeaaaoueehhhahghgh."

And I'll show you what that sounds like in-game later on. :p Does look fishy though.

Lol I had a chance to write at home and make money hehehe for a low introductory price hehehe. If there is something to lose then to lose probably will happen! But in Gods ways who knows! So with that added confusion hehehe I ask whats your heart saying?

More or less, it's a franchise for IT support. There's a dozen or so similar companies out there. In truth, there's nothing fundamentally different between starting your own tech support company and being "hired" by them, save they will help market your services.

Notice a few key phrases there:

we will post you on our internal partner site, FindItSupport.com. When onsite jobs are presented to us, we call or email you with the job specifics. Once we hand the lead over to you, you are responsible for all communication and billing with the client.

and most especially
If we have multiple partners in a given area when an onsite is required, we obviously send it to the partner with the most activity with us and who has at least tried our free trial.
How I read this is that they will on occasion send you a lead, which you must then call/email/etc and negotiate/sale your services to said lead. You'll probably end up doing a lot of home-grade fixes; and not a lot of real network engineering work. *shrugs* Additionally, you're not guaranteed ANY work, just the possibility of the opportunity to sale yourself.

Truth be told, if you want to get into the consultant business, there's better ways to do it.

depends on the state..however an llc taxes in my state of Maryland are filed against my personal taxes while i get the corporate shield. fee's are minimal.
