I can say it would be overly arrogant to say America would be any different. Mel Gibson has already said that making The Passion was most likely a career ender for him in Hollywood. Kirk Cameron has done the same thing with his role in Left Behind series. America may claim to be a Christain country but I doubt most Americans who make that claim even understadn Christianity enough to make it.

So, in short, for you to toss out an insult against Brittain like that just shows how arrogant we as Americans are.

Cory I feel we are so far away from a Christian society anymore or even consider ourselves Christian anymore in America. Sad, truly sad.
 
hehehehe i heard Mrs. Graham once that if God didt punish America for her imorality that God would have to apologize to Sodom and Gamora. but since our country was based on Christian princeables we can say we're more Christian than britian.

I see the situation in America to be similar to the one in Iraq - where the "authorities" come in and say "You're free to choose whatever you want - that's what democracy and liberty mean" and then get upset because people choose not to continue the status quo.

Personally I'm looking forward to the time when there is no longer a single dominant religion in Britain - the Anglican church really isn't needed now that Catholocism has ceased to be the danger it once was.

well i have a question Eon: would u rather have several religions with many different sects or 1 religion that believes in a Single powerful God who loves all. forgive im a little rusty on all the beliefs of angelicans.
 
Me? I'd rather have several religions with different beliefs co-existing peacefully and adding to the rich cultural fabric of a diverse nation.

Anyway, some of the bigger holy wars have been fought between different sects of Christianity, so let's not pretend to a unified belief system that you don't actually have!
 
wether or not our religous groups of Christianity completely agree and are unified, we all share a bond in Christ so we are unified in a single most important way: Belieiving Christ came to Earth and Died for everyones sins, past,present, future.
 
So it's out of a sense of unity and love that Catholics and Protestants kill, maim and discriminate against each other? I never realised this was a healthy demonstration of fraternal love...

That is not true Atown. The calvinist denominations hold to limited atonement which meens Yeshua only died for a few people not for everyone.

No it is not. Those that do such things only know the term christianity and do not understand it.
 
eh on only true christians thingy, we all have different beliefs. in mark it says that to Preach the Word to all the creatures of this world (something like that. im at library and dont have my Bible seeker or my Bible). so therefor they are not expressing true love to others. now are they gonna be in heaven?? i doubt it but if they honestly have a relationship with God what is there to doubt??


and it isnt right caths and prots to kill each other and well i have no explanation for their actions. they are just expressing their feelings of anger. are they right?? nope not one bit. will one day a cathlic and a prot be in harmony in heaven?? well i dont know but for now i'll say yes. are we all going to be judged?? yep.
 
Yeah Atown when it all comes down to it, Catholics and Protestants will end up in heaven, side by side being judged equally for there actions (regardless of whether one or the other was right).

I have yet to find a catholic who is seriouse about thier faith. All my Catholic friends are swayed into believing in evolution by the science teacher, or whaver else comes thier way.

That is a shocking statistic, but if you think about it, the little kids would say "spider man" Maybe the older kids would give thier favorite band. Me, I would say Paul or Stephan off the top of my head because Jesus I guess is a given. Could be misleading. If it is an accurate statistic I guess we have our work cut out for us boys.

yeah that is true. for me i pick Job. there are none like him and was really the only human next to David that even came close to being like Jesus. and master-plan... mind changing ur color to black?? its really really hard to read green
