ISP issues

Just letting everyone know the reason I have not been around this week is Issues with my ISP so hopefully everything gets better soon.
 
ISP vs Dredd, round 1

My biggest annoyance is the el cheapo belkin trash I use as my AP (cause my WRT54GS is serving as a wireless bridge with DD-WRT). It likes to randomly jam up and drop traffic so I end up having to restart it after playing certain games or watching flash based movies at times. I want to replace it but dont feel like waisting 50 bucks to get something that may or may not work.

My ISP is surprisingly good, the last few times ive had issues with their network they had it resolved within a day or so. And they uncap the network when there is a low load so we get some pretty insane speeds (1.4MB/sec anyone :P)
 
Out ISP here is rather bad. They have no competition in the town and charge almost 2.5 times the money as most other towns around here. That said, I don't have any other complaints against them.

I get somewhere between 1-5 MBPS, I think. I don't remember what it is exactly, but it's pretty cool... MBPS instead of KBPS FTW!!!
 
Well they have had these issues since they upgraded the Speed to 10Mps DSL. But is getting better each day have an issue here and there but we will see.

VOIP actually can kill a connection in short order if not setup properly. The defacto setup for many phones is to put the voip box between the modem and computer, which defaults to voip having highest priority to the extent that it will actually drop packets.

If you want to increase your browsing speed you can actually use your own DNS server. Often times while at my college I will use my VPS as a dns as the lookups are sooo much faster then the slug they have slowing down the internet (well that and I use a socks tunnel...lol)

A friend works for Comcast, but in the commercial side. It's not just us; the service simply is garbage.

Besides, we checked everything repeatedly for months, and had them send service people out repeatedly. In our area, at least, Comcast Digital Voice is a terrible service.
 
Dredd! Darkbot and I have missed you soooooo! I have been playing CnC with him, and I miss my friend in GW, TS is so lonely without you!

PS: dredd doesn't get internet, internet gets dredd. (n--b)
 
lol It is working better still kicks me no and than. I will try to be on more often stupid Halo 3 is so addictive!!!
