Is this what has become of the server??

I have been away for the past few months from CS..but boy has our server been taken over by hackers or what.

Take for example tonite...its embarassing to play especially when there are like 10+ toj members online and we can't do a thing about hackers while playing...not one of the 16 admins are online or could be reached... :(

I don't know who your referring to but there is an admin page bot in Server Discussion and if you think someone is hacking plz record demo/condump and get steam id for us. I for one try to be on as much as Im allowed to be (very busy with Exams and all) but if you will IM me at RealRebel4Life92 im usually around from 3pm-2am est. if not Im sure you can reach another admin via AIM (seems to be the easiest way to me) or via page but in server-discussion.

I live Pacific Time, by the time its midnight, all the admins are or already asleep...

I usually Condump & Status every 5-10 mins or 3-5 rounds. Then send it to csadmins@toj.cc

If demo too big, I zip/winrar it to make it smaller.

The admin paging bit doesn't work. I have tried to use it a few times but to no avail.
 
i didn't bother recording demos...you just have to look at yesterday's log to see couple of people cheating openly and admitting to it (or just look at knife kills one after hte other :) ).

We are adding a couple of additional admins this week including Dead Aim and Killa_s. But to sit there and complain and not do anything just drives me nuts seeker. No demo no action. We don't ban cheaters based on logs. They just don't give an accurate picture. If you choose not to use the admin email to submit evidence, you loose you right to complain. It is that simple.

the action was trying to get hold of an admin for almost an hour instead of just switching the server...u can ask bowser. I'm sorry, but the log that clearly gives details about how the players were behaving is very much accurate in this case. Its not like i'm accusing someone of hacking...they clearing and openly hacked and admitted it, and for that you would want a demo? I'm sure someone recorded a demo if you really want one..

Honestly, in such cases there is no need for demos, but u're right I have no right to complain if I don't record a demo...

The reason I posted was not to get anyone banned...I just wanted to generalize and state the availibility of admins...and its good to hear that there are couple more added...My suggestion though is there should be some kind of "scheduling" for admins...making atleast one available during peak hours...and I hope I have the right to give feedback.

Everyday there are some 50,000 lines of log entries. Give me a steam id or a name and I might have a chance to find the information but to expect me to look at all 50,000 lines of logs for yesterday isn't feasable.

Unlike other servers, we have very strict requirements on admins. It is to protect the integrity of our leadership and witness. We pick admins based on maturity and reaction and not on skill. This takes time and has worked out very good as problems with admins are thankfully an exception. This also means that admin availability is not always the best.

When that is the case, we try to provide as many alternative means to seeking a resolution. Admins not on, try the bot or contact list. Still can't get ahold of someone, send information to csadmins@toj.cc. If you don't get a timely response, followup with the chapter leaders or let me know. If that doesn't work, contact Tek.

With real life schedules, there are going to be holes in admin coverage. Adding more admins just to meet coverage is not the answer as we have already determined this. We would rather have 10 hackers on the server then 1 admin not representing Christ in their actions on the server.

Hope this explains a little better why evidence is needed on the admins part and why there may be holes in coverage.

[myg0t] is possibly the biggest hacking clan ever. They do more than hack in-game as they are rumored to be the ones that leaked the HL2 scource code and packeted CAL-I match servers.
 
wow I was just looking at the mygot web page and these guys are messed in the head or something, but it seems people just put the tag on to be cool or whatever. Which doesn't mean all off them hack, but it means their probobly going to curse and try to be a pain.

I say ban them for thinking its cool to put that tag on. VAC should have them on auto ban if that tag is ever used.
 
mygot is on the hlguard autoban list. I just checked. Most forms of the name are in there, is the server set to exec the nameban.cfg for hlguard? If it is then it should autoban any clan tags on the spot if its turned on. Hlguard is running on toj servers i believe.
