Is the use of magic in video games OK for Christians?

Is it possible that when playing video games the use of and/or exposure to magic actually affects the player spiritually?

Not for me, personally. Maybe for you, though, I would be careful if you are hearing a still small voice about this topic.

ewoksrule is right - if it is affecting you spiritually - beware.

For most of us, it's not a problem. If it were, we would be out of the game.

All things are possible but not all are profitable.

If the Lord is speaking to you about it, it's time to drop it. Not go looking for a reason why it's ok.

it depends on the person, for me it is not an issue because warriors dont need no stinking magic!!!

I really don't think it is. Does playing FPS make you want to get a gun and start mowing people down? Is Halloween bad? Well the answer is maybe. If a voice in your head says "maybe I should contribute to the kickstarter page that's doing the encantation book" then you have crossed the line. You need to repent and roll a warrior as stated above.

It might affect me spiritually when people are hurling lightning bolts in the streets. Till then, not likely. [read: As long as the player can tell the difference between fiction and reality, there's not much danger of it.]
