Is +spell damage ALWAYS +healing too?

I have a socket bonus on my chest that's +5 Spell Damage.

My question is ... is that +5 Spell Damage and Healing (and Blizz just didn't want to take up that much room on the tooltip, but indicating that maybe I do want to keep the bonus activated) or is it just damage (in which case I should dump it)?

With 2.2 or whatever,
  • "Healing" gear also gave spell damage proportional to 1/3 of its heal points (e.g. 9 healing also gives 3 spell damage)
  • "Spell damage gear" has always given healing equal to its spell damage points (e.g. 5 damage also gives 5 healing)

I just wonder whether that's a universal enough rule that it always works in both directions, or if in some special cases, general spell damage (e.g. gems, enchants, socket bonuses) DOES NOT also provide healing. Obviously for school-specific stuff (e.g. shadow damage) it doesn't provide healing also, so it wouldn't be unheard of.

This'll help me figure out whether I care about the socket bonuses in some cases.

The general rule for gear, enchants, gems and socket bonus is:

Unspecified school +damage = +dmg \ +healing
Specified school +damage = +dmg to that school only without any +healing
+healing = +healing and 1/3 +damage if it specifically states it (95% of all +healing gear)
+healing without the 1/3 +damage modifier = only +healing (very rarely does this happen, most likely to happen on gear that can have random stats)
