Is breaking up the new fad in the Christian Music Industry?

The O.C. Supertones announced a while back they were playing their last concert at BIOLA in October. While it's sad to see the Supertones end their run, they had a good one. They've produced quite a few awesome albums. When PAX 217 announced they were closing up shop in May though, that was a bit of a shocker. They've only two CDs and an EP, and they were an awesome band. I was listening to Air 1 recently and the DJ mentioned that Seven Places had called it quits, which came as a suprise. They've only had two CDs out! I believe that leaves Kutless as the lone Christian rock band representative from Oregon (obviously important only to those who actually live in the state).

What's going on? Does everybody have to always follow Petra's lead?

Five Iron Frenzy is still my favorite band, more than half the music I listen to is music from bands that have broken up by now. On the subject of Christian music's only remaining ska bands that were worth noting (Dingees were awesome, but they're druggies now I think), The Insyderz are breaking up too. It's pretty sad, I love ska and I wish it would get more popular, but too many kids would rather be cool than have fun. There needs to be more Christian ska bands.

Ska bands are exactly what i dont like hearing not sure why thats what makes this world so awesome... and for all you non-believers Dc talk is not sepperated just taking a very long break... Pax127 man they were awesome if they were a little harder they would of sounded kind of like POD but they stayed there way and it was cool...

Ska is pretty much just a faster and more fun version of reggae. It's got that weird guitar style reggae has, and horns play a major part. You can't really have a ska band without horns.

i knew that.. i've seen dc talk live 4 times... maybe 5.. and i've seen all their solo stuff live at least once.. but part of me thinks that it will be a longer wait.. everytime Toby Mac adresses the subject of a DC Talk album he always says 1 more solo cd and then a DC Talk cd.. i'm wonderin about that one.....

I went to Atlantafest in '98... I think every band I saw there besides Third Day, Audio Adrenaline, and Skillet has broken up.

I don't know if you can count Skillet though, because the only member left over from Skillet circa 1998 would be frontman John Cooper.
