What knowledge does it take to write an app for the iPhone? How difficult is it to learn? I've found myself with a few good ideas, but no knowledge to implement them.

You need to know ObjC to work with the interface libraries. For the most part a good understanding of C with basic object oriented knowledge is the minimum you should need. The iPhone SDK has examples you can toy with and get the general gist of what you need to have.

Bah, you will forget Spanish in a few months. I don't remember anything from the 2 years I was forced into taking.

My fiancee is from Mexico. Her family all speaks Spanish. Thus I am obligated to learn the language and not forget!
