gator tries to load his own LAN server, he gets the error.
I try to connect to the TOJ server, I get the error, but the some server didn't seem to be effected.

Maybe steam will work this out, not really sure whats going on, probably that new update threw a wrench into something important.

I and others have been having issues as well...

I just renamed/re-downloaded the one file one of the people mentioned and hammer started up. Also all my source engine games are currently updating now. IDK if your problem and mine are the same though as there is a different message for yours. There are other threads in that forum mentioning your problem though and it started with the same update.

Played a game of TF2 it now works either becuase I messed with that file or becuase they updated it. I can't tell which fixed it.

I'm having the same problem as in that thread Gerbil linked. It appears that renaming the file to force an update should work, my update is running now.

went ahead without a reply from steam help desk and did what Gerbil says to do, I renamed it and updated but it did not help. but on the bright side of things I got a few tf2 customs downloaded and installed.
will just have to wait this thing out, maybe play Keero's new MN.Racers game.

Well, the name change thing worked fine for me. After it finished updating I was able to play again.

I'm working on it but I haven't been able to find a file named InstallRecord.blob as yet. Also I thought I tested the server back when you where first having issues but I am now having the same issue.
