Maybe your Internet Service Provider, Comcast.net sucks...

Are you running any kind of router or splitter that may be eating bandwidth? Make sure to restart your modem as Comcast has increased there speed twice lately for free and all it requires is you restart your modem. Also any virus scan or firewalls could impact the transfer of data.

Wireless or Wired?

IF your using wireless, well thats obvious why its soo slow.
IF not, and using wired, Is it plugged in right? No wires tangled or crossed bad? OHHHH what Router your using? SMC? Linksys? D-Link? NetGear? Maybe you didnt update your router's system?

Btw, this computer (my bad desktop) is hooked up directly to the internet, and then we have a router. Just an answer to Corps, probably not useful quesiton.... lol. i'm takin' a gander at hcs site he recommended.

Using the red bars... 2 of 'em

It means, your speed, SA.

And that hasnt helped much...

389 down
360 up

It means its 389 kbps download and 360 kbps upload....

Slightly more...

A wireless connection is not automatically going to be slow.

Every connection is not stable, unless you have a $200-$500 router, then that must of been worth it...

True. My laptop is considerably slower than hard-wired, in my case. Buuut, I won't gripe. I'm thankful to have the wireless network in the first place.
