Insane in the Membrane is back and now even easier!

"It's a question you've been asking us for a little while now. And, based on all the posts, emails, petitions, and letters we received following the announcement that the Insane in the Membrane achievement would no longer be in available in World of Warcraft: Cataclysm, we started to wonder if maybe we had gone a bit loco.

So, we went back to the drawing board. After carefully reviewing all the feedback and discussing the matter amongst ourselves, we're now happy to report that we will be making the following changes to the Feat of Strength:

Exalted reputation with Shen'dralar will no longer be required. As this is the only reputation that will be unobtainable in Cataclysm, we've simply decided to remove it as a requirement.

For those who already earned Exalted reputation with this faction, don't worry -- we haven't forgotten about your accomplishments. In a future patch, we'll be adding in a separate Feat of Strength to recognize your deep love of Dire Maul.

Bloodsail Buccaneer faction reputation will remain in-game. Also, to ensure that this change does not negatively affect Cataclysm quest progression in Stranglethorn Vale, Booty Bay Bruisers will now provide reputation up through Exalted.

This will ensure that players will still be able to attain Insane in the Membrane and "The Insane" title in World of Warcraft: Cataclysm. Please note, however, that these changes will not take effect until The Shattering in patch 4.0.3a -- excluding the separate "Exalted with Shen'dralar" feat, which will be introduced in a future, but currently-undetermined patch.

And, of course, those who are already Insane in the Membrane will retain their title and current Feat of Strength. Shine on, you crazy diamonds."

Lol Shine on you crazy diamonds...So true though.

I like how they are fixing this to where you can get it in Cata, But I still don't think I will ever try and achieve this one.

Flame...I don't know how you did it!!!!

Oh trust me, I'll never try to get this. I posted this mostly for Flame to feel cheated by the removal of one of the factions and allowing pirate rep to be earned more easily.

:P

I'm actually angry about this.

I just spent the time from last post to this reading the achievement forums about this.

What a poorly handled situation by Blizzard.

I"m seriously too angry to even play. I logged in, sat there for several minutes and just logged back out.

Why must they give everything to anyone who complains? Why must the extreme things in this game be dumbed down for people who put it off to the last second? I'm sick of the way Blizzard has been handling things like this lately.

Where's my Scarab Lord title?

I'm going to bed. You may not see me in-game for a while.

can I have your stuff?

I totally agree with you Flame. They should either make a new title for those who actually got the insane title originally, and one for the dumbed down one.

I might now go after this achievement...but it would still take me a while.

How about if Redeemed created a title for you Flame? You could hold the position yourself or whoever you deemed worthy?

Appreciate the thought, but it's not that I don't deem others worthy of the title. It's that something I worked so hard for has been severely trivialized. I never considered myself to be the authority of who is worthy of the title and who is not. I just wish the ones that ARE in charge of deciding these things could find some consistency. If they were unwilling to leave an NPC or two in the game to keep the Shen'dralar rep intact, they should just make the feat unattainable.

I'm fine with the title being available in Cataclysm, I really am. I never expected that the title would eventually be unavailable - but I did expect that the requirements should remain the same.

If it's any consolation at all, it might be a lot harder to get than you're thinking. I'm not sure the repeatable quest in northern tanaris is still there. If you take a quick look at the map, most of northern tanaris is underwater now. You may have to grind rep the hard way (i.e. killing a stupid amount of mobs).

Gaaah, I keep hearing that Cypress Hill song in my head when I read the thread title. @___@
