In case there's any doubt

Yes, we're probably a few years away from the release of Starcraft 2 yet.

But when the release date gets closer and whispers of "beta" are heard, we will be re-activating the chapter. If a ToJ member doesn't step up to head the chapter, I might lead it personally.

We may even re-activate it earlier if there's a large enough surge of activity among Christian Starcraft 1 players.

I highly doubt it's a couple of years away. I would be willing to bet it's less than a year away.
Hm, it's probably somewhere in the middle. I'd be shocked if we saw it before Q3 2008.

Wow, you leading for SC2, it will be a tough challenge, especially being very busy occasionally.

Heh, are there still active Starcraft players?

I am very active in Starcraft, as noticable with my profile and signatures, hehehehe.

I guess there will be since SC2 has amazed everyone. To reminisce the good old days.

It would depend largely on my workload at the time of release. I couldn't lead a chapter with my current workload, but as I delegate more responsibility and authority to other members, I'll have more time to pursue other endeavors. :D

I need to reload my copy of Starcraft and start practicing. Warcraft III has made me very methodical and slow.

Indeed. Elihu and I played two games (one Sunday night, one last night) and I'm remembering just how much I love Starcraft.

Maybe with this surge of new activity, we'll even see someone step forward to volunteer to lead the chapter...

I heard via the CGW podcast that their blizz rep said that this would not be a "typical" blizzard launch, but rather, a relatively excellerated launch. The inside scoop is that the engine is fully playable, so what remains are 1) the arduous task of balancing the darn thing up to pro-gamer standards, 2) the upgraded version of Battle.net, and 3) the single-player campaign. So, maybe as soon as early 2008 would be my ideal situation? Oddly, Gamespy has the game listed as due in November 07 but I totally doubt that. Besides, it would fulfill the 10 year prophecy, just like the 10 years that elapsed between warcraft and WoW :c)

BTW: I just gotta say, I love those new Protoss units. Drastically different, yet they feel distinctly Protoss. Even down to the mothership. Remember the opening cinematic to the original Starcraft?

I do, since everything is detailed, I wonder if the Goliaths will originally use mini-guns, noticable from previous cinematics. Or if Marines special ability are shields that protect them from ranged fire similar to the Footmans Defend ability in WC 3.

Meh, only time will tell.
