I just found out about this about ten minutes ago. Apparently, if you haven't consolidated your student loans, you have until midnight tonight Hawaiian time to do so...or rates go up two points! So get busy! (Thanks to Tek for mentioning in his prayer request, or I wouldn't have known!)

In order to qualify for the lower, pre July 1, 2006 interest rates, you must complete and submit your online application no later than midnight (Hawaiian Time) on June 30, 2006. If your application is saved but not submitted by the deadline, your application will not be processed and you will miss the opportunity to consolidate at the lower rates. You may still apply for a consolidation loan on or after July 1, 2006, but your consolidation loan interest rate will be calculated at the higher interest rates that take effect on July 1, 2006.Direct Loan website
