If Abe Lincoln lived today...

I don't remember where I read it, and I don't know if it is true or not, but I think I remember reading that there was about as much controversy around Lincoln as president as their currently is about Bush.

I could be mistaken though.
 
To be honest Abraham Lincoln was not the moral man he has been made out to be. He really was not against slavery, he just was against the spread of slavery to the new states. His whole goal was to keep the Union together, and he did not want to abolish slavery until a year and a half into the war, when he realized that the South was not going to rejoin the Union.
