Idea: Daily Bible reading accountability

What would you all think of grouping up with other CGA community members to help keep each other accountable to read the Word daily? The idea is primarily for people who want to develop the discipline of daily reading but aren't as consistent as they want to be.

I envision small groups (maybe even 2-3 individuals) grouping up or being placed in groups by CGA staff to check in with each other daily or at least a few times a week to see how others are doing with their reading. It could be as simple as a, "Hey, have you done your reading today?" before joining a League of Legends game. It could also help remind people to read when they see others on Steam or the forums or IRC, prompting them to say, "I'm going to sit this match/round/map out and finish my reading then join in for the next."

This is designed more for people who may not yet feel comfortable grouping with members of their local church. It's not meant to be an "ultimate" solution, but rather a transitional or supplemental opportunity for Christian gamers who've yet to (but are actively seeking to) establish friendships with fellow believers in the context of a local church.

It is not at all intended to be an external, legalistic substitute for focused and prayerful study of Scripture nor does it imply that reading Scripture without a genuine desire to learn from the Word will benefit anyone.

Thoughts?

EDIT: And it doesn't need to be anything as formal as a "program," but signing up/grouping with others does provide additional accountability when we say, "I will read the Word daily."
 
I do really like this idea. Is there a medium we can use to get together? Like, would we rely on email, the forums, PM (hopefully not?)?

I would like to get involved somehow.
 
I like the idea, I think it could help those who have gotten away from reading the word but have "always wanted to."

I was thinking we could have a signup thread and those interested could post what media they use (e.g. Steam, Facebook, IRC, texting, etc.), time zones, and maybe what games they play and a designated CGA staff member could recommend groups accordingly. Then we could keep a list of who's grouped with who.

The idea is to increase the odds of people communicating with each other regularly. For example: I see Japesland, Danny, and Pheonix on IRC daily, but I wouldn't necessarily come into contact with someone who primarily uses Facebook for communication and plays WoW.

That's just me rattling off ideas, though. I'm definitely open to suggestions.
 
Tek......is the group function set up here? It could be another way to do this and still keep things more "intimate" without being out there. Hard to get across what I mean .....but I know vbulletin has these groups. (Each group can have a Leader and can be set up for invite only so to keep things "personal" without everyone feeling like what they do or don't do is out there for everybody's inspection.)

I believe this would be a great idea to try can't hurt as I know from personal experience it would be helpful. This could also end up moving into more "Bible study" groups as well if a few people felt more comfortable and also accountable to each other.

Sorry just me thinking and if I don't post when I start thinking then I generally don't add as much any more.

We could set up forum usergroups for accountability groups, but that's more complicated than I had originally envisioned.

My goal is to help assemble small (2-3 people) groups where people are charged with keeping each other accountable to read the Word daily. The only administrative oversight would be a sign-up thread and a list of groups. It would be up to a single point of contact to place people who don't already have people picked out to connect them with others in the same situation.

EDIT: But that's only my vision of the groups. If others are interested in a program like what Litsafalda described, I'm certainly not opposed. And I do like the idea of the groups leading into more Bible studies in CGA.
