Heres a little build help for warriors wanting to fight the imps for icy dragon swords. Change your secondary to Mesmer. There is a Mesmer skill called Elemental Resistance that gives you +40 armor when the imps (elementalists) attack.
This would work for any profession that uses Mesmer as a secondary. It requires inspiration magic but you don't even need any attribute points there. With no attribute points in Inspiration Magic, Elemental Resistance lasts for 30 seconds. The recharge time on the skill is 20 seconds. This means you can have ele resistance on you continuously while imp fighting.
I watched an experienced W/Me and these were the skills I saw him use: Elemental Resistance, Charge, Watch Yourself, Dolyak Signet, Sever Artery, Rez Signet, Healing Signet, and one other (balanced stance maybe).
We took a 4 man group and killed until we killed the ice beast. Azure shadows gave us more trouble than anything. Don't use Elemental Resistance while fighting the Shadows. There is a -24 armor penalty for physical attacks so let ER expire and just use standard attack skills.
There are two ways to run to the ice cave. One way (the southern route) has a rez shrine pretty close to the cave in case the team dies. If several members of the team have "Charge" then you can run almost continuously if all stay together. Charge can be captured at Perdition Rock (Ember Light Camp).
We need to get a group together to do this. This will be our easiest and quickest shot at an Icy Dragon Sword.
