no my breaking my shoulders i think i got CS on my desktop now.... only had the wrong email address for steam the entire time... man i feelstupid

for some reason it says connection timed out and server not responding to our main CS server

Ok i figured out what the problem was/is

I have nortan internet firewall and unless i disable/turn it off i can not connect with steam.... and it doesnt allow me to set steam as one of the allowed connections ( dont know how to do it manually going to play with it a bit) any ideas?

i was running through i am about to let it scan so i can set it up... right now steam and steam_1 are both allowed so is Halflife.

Kerio > Norton. As for anti virus, i got Avast (thanks goes to Tek7 for his help) had my little key gen whupped up, and it's running. only thing is i got a whole bunch of security stuffs running on my IE and MS outlook. I should find it and disable those

if it was my computer believe me NIS would be gone ( id ont have it on my laptop) but it is the "families" so i am not going to mess with it just disable it anytime i want to play that works 2.

why do they allow it to connect? Don't they know that steam is a virus?

I have NIS.....i just told it to allow all access to steam.exe and hl.exe.
