I was in Christian Supply (It's a Northwest chain of Christian retail stores), and I grabbed a copy of Shawn McDonald's "Ripen" off the shelf because you could win a signed copy of his "Ripen" CD cover, though I had no idea how one would win (It said ask a sales associate, but I was too lazy). Upon picking up the CD I immediately noticed that it was wrapped differently then the rest on the shelf. Instead of having plastic "folded" packaging on the sides, it was "shrunken" together. I thought about putting it back figuring I had a used copy in my hands and Christian Supply had decided to use some underhanded tactics to put a demo CD back on sale as "new".
I get home to open the CD up and there, lo and behold, was the signed cover on the inside and a little note stating that I won!!!
The lesson here is sometimes being hopelessly obsessive about only purchasing "new things" isn't always healthy, because I nearly put this copy back.
w00t!
