ok so last thursday i was hanging out with dark bot, and his neighbor kid came over cuz dark bot is borrowing his 360. we're talking bout games and the dreamcast comes up in subject. and all of the sudden the neighbor kid asks: whats a dreamcast?? and im like.... "HERTHEAHRATHARTHAETRHETHERTH. how old are u?" and hes like... "12" and im like.... i feel old *shudders*

So much <3 for the Dreamcast.

And you think you feel old? I started my video game career on the Nintendo Entertainment System...when I was five.

EDIT: What's even worse is hearing from really young people playing World of Warcraft who never played Warcraft II--especially those who aren't aware that World of Warcraft is only the latest in a long-standing mythology.

Man, null modem cable + Warcraft II + cheat codes = hours and hours of fun.

I never played Warcraft, but I knew it existed. I still remember playing games on the Apple ][, Commodore PET, and Atari. *sigh* At least I never played on the TI-80.

yeah i know. my friend aj whos my age was confused on the difference between wc3 and wow......

man, my friend was a huge sega fanboy, so when he got into the Dreamcast we knew about it right away, it still pwns. we were playing power stone 2 on it last night :P. it is so awsome that my friend had two of them (one of them broke, so he got another-they are cheep-then ended up fixing the first one on his own). My favorite part about it is that most of the games are abandonware, and those that aren't cost about $2 :D w00t for the DC!!!

Pfft......NES?

Atari 2600....Defender....River Raid....nuff said :p

---I wrote games for the TI-82/83

Lol - I never wrote games but with no floppy drive or modem and only a couple of games on cartridges and tape drive, I frequently typed games into my C64 from the back of RUN magazines. That was primarily how I learned to type. :)

I think im going to cry....

Oh yes, I remember when my folks bought a Commodore Vic-20... our family was coming into the modern gaming age with that one! I remember my mom typing lines and lines of code in just to play one little asteroids-like game, and once you turned it off... poof! It was gone. Next time we wanted to play, mom had to re-type the code.

Around that same time I was playing my aunt's Atari... and within a couple of years I was drooling over new NES games in the Sears Wish book. Oh those were the DAYS...

yes yes...the good old sears catalog.

man...back when there was no such thing as a 'saved' game or a story line.....or farming. You just played until you got a really high score, or your thumbs bled

We (my family) bought the SNES as the N64 was coming out. *sigh* those days when we were on such a slim budget... although I played a lot of classics, I must say.

I've heard about it, but I've never played/seen it. By my young age, NES came out. I've played and own from the NES up to the PS2. However, I have never played/own the Sega CD, PS1 and Virtual Boy. Though, I've briefly played the Atari Jaguar, they had a good looking squad-shooter game.

I currently still own the N-64, Sega Dreamcast, Sega Saturn and PS2. I play them from time to time.

People who haven't realized of prequel games is because they just started out the newer games than the older ones.

A couple years back, I played Pong on a old system with my Grandfather. I'm surprised he still had it for so long, though, I have no idea what is the old system's name.

hmm.... I really shouldnt post in this thread..... Atari, Intellivision, C64,ADAM, ermm.... Oddesy, Old Apple 2e,c etc... games and the original "pong" console. Pinball and Spyhunter, and Space Invaders arcade game... many a quarter spent.. More then likely im forgetting some, oh well. Ok ... im done dating myself. Carry on. :P

p.s. One of my fav games for Atari was Chopper Command! ooo... and Yars Revenge
