i would be a mac freak if i could afford it. they are great great home computers and great computers for amateur/semipro video production.
 
ya ive had my mac for i think almost 3 yrs and i more then likely will never get a windows computer again... u can always tell ppl that havent used one for a while and they r a windows fan because i have never had a problem with my computer ( other then me playing with coding settings that i had no clue what was doing but the numbers looked cool) so i dont see y everyone says they r horrible.
i had i think 4 different windows machines that were suppose to be very good but they always had something wrong but my mac is amazing and like i said hasnt had probs other then me messing with stuff that i shouldnt. and they both get u to the same place online so does it really matter?

Their "closedness" would also be the reason why no products used to run on their machines, and consequently why their computers used to not be as popular as PC's.

hmm i dont think they r all that closed though... i mean they actually CAN run windows stuff unlike windows running mac stuff.
and by being closed it does make them a bit more secure doesnt it?
 
No, they get just as many viruses as windows, Apple just LIES and says they are software issues...and they have a hidden anti-virus software that runs when one is detected, it is the LEAST secure OS... You cannot run OS X on any other machine than a mac because they have closed it off from everything... While windows is open to everything... Google refers to Apple as the evil genius because they really are evil, they lie to their customers and use very underhanded tactics... I used to be an Apple supporter...never again...
 
um well if they can handle handling their own software by making their own anti virus software and not have to slow the heck out of your computer a bad thing? i really dont see that as bad. and it mite be shut off from everything because they dont allows things like bootcamp and parallels on other machines.
and um what windows r u talking about? windows isnt open to everything! try opening pages on a windows computer! but if u import a word document u can change it to pages and then back to word if u need to.. i really dont think that windows is open. windows is open to their software just like mac is. just mac is more picky on what they let into their computers...

The average Mac computer is using more than 70% of it RAM at any given time...my PC...is using about 20%...boo ya!!!

And by the way...back to when I said I was a believer in Open and Free...I use open office which handles all formats...

Apple saved IBM in the 80s...

Apple about went bankrupt and saved themselves with the iPod...

There are just about 1 million people that use Macs...the number has not increased for quite some time...Apple is worried...

Apple's iPhone and iPod touch are big hits, helps Apple stay alive a little longer...

Apple cannot write training manuals...

Macs (except for the Mac Pro) are not built to play games, please do not try to put WoW on one, says Apple themselves...

The Mac OS X is designed for user friendliness and does not allow for much customization and configuring (okay, this is one is an opinion...)



I will state this one last time, I loved Apple, until I went to work for them...

Dude you might want to check your "facts".

These are a list of internet legends that most are not really true.

I could go thru them one by one, but it would be useless.

Stop posting things that you are hearing from other people that are baseless and untrue.

I will give you one piece of information to help you out.

Apple is the only major computer manufacturer to post gains in computer sales the last four quarters. To say they are not increasing computer sales is to be ignorant of the facts of the computer and business world.

and when i had my del and my hp and w/e other computer i had it was always lagging because of my anti virus software.. now the only time if ever i get lag is because of my dumb internet provider!
and i have more freedom with leopard then i EVER had with my windows stuff! and i honestly dont know anything about vista but from what ive heard its the worst thing ever. so i honestly dont see the prob with mac. i think both windows and macs have their pros but i just prefer macs is all
 
Yeah, i'm SERIOUSLY thinking about switching to a Mac just to avoid Vista.

Besides, Dell = plastic, Mac = Titanium. Titanium > Plasic IMHO. How can you argue with that???
 
mhmm the new macs r really nice! i want one really bad but cause im turning 16 my dad loses 900 dollars a month soo pretty much time to save =)
