Hunters in Redeemed?

I used to hunt a lot but haven't in about 12 years.

My dad did get 2 deer this year on first day of shotgun season here in Illinois. One was an 11 pt. buck and the other was a 3 pt. buck.

Looks like I'm going to get a lot of venison this year :)

In Florida your lucky to spot a 3pt. An 11 pt is a more then likely going to be the season record. Although I'll be excited when I finally get to go hunting this year seeing as I didn't go last year.

My son's best friend went hunting and shot 3 deer a couple weeks ago. I guess his Mom doesn't have room for it all in the freezer so he phoned and asked if we wanted some......now to just convince Godspeon that deer steak is yummy!

Hm. I've never killed an animal. Not that I wouldn't, should the appropriate chance arrive...

Just a city boy :D\

If you make any deer jerky, send some over my way. It might be the best thing I've ever tasted.

Move to Florida and I'll take you. You may not get a deer but chances are always good for a wild hog here in the swamp. :-) Heck we even caught a few gators that have gotten to close to the perimeter fence where I work at.

WHAT? who doesn't eat venison? A little salt, pepper, Onion? a glop of butter in a cast iron pan with a mediem heat...HMMMM Good eating there......<Licks Lips>

someone doesn't like venison???? Isn't that illegal?

It's great. Very lean.

If you get young deer meat it's really sweet compared to beef or pork. Older deer have a bit stronger taste but you just cook it a little different or use different spicing.
