I agree. I was orginally going to say that atheists just say that so they dont believe in God but I dident, oops I just did.
You know, of all the arguments against omni*, I have personally always felt like those two are a bit bad.

Can god make a square circle? Sure. It's a square. they are just words.

As for the rock argument...I dunno...it always felt to me a lot like the circular aguments some people use to prove the bible.

Well, I'll obviously get booted from the secret atheist cabal for saying that. ;)

Well J, you're missing Medjai's point. He even says very clearly that the "rock too heavy to lift" argument is a VERY bad one. It's ridiculous, and not worthy of any thought. That is, if God acts within logic. If God cannot act outside of logic, that argument is quickly and easily dispelled, you're absolutely correct. However, if God can suddenly act outside of logic, such a question is completely relevant.

True true.
I was not so much commenting on Medjai's post as commenting on the statement in general.

Well, as Timor said, I clearly acknowledged the stupidity of that rhetoric, yet if God does act outside of logic, it is suddenly completely a feasable question. In fact, so is asking whether or not he could create a square circle.

Also, you say it could be too heavy at one time but not another but this ignores the question as it pertains to one area in time. Either the rock is to heavy at time
'x' or it isn't.

I just got back on a long drive to Chicago so this may sound weired seeing as how I am tired but ill try anyway. What is logic to God? He knows more then us so our view on logic could be a bit more blurry.

We still have the basics down Pop!

How was your trip? I would love to hear all about it, why did you go to Chicago?

you're clsoe to me Mr Pop, I'm about an hour away from Chicago depending on traffic
