I like to go by what Jesus suggested in Matthew 18 : 15-17

"If your brother sins against you, go and show him his fault, just between the two of you. If he listens to you, you have won your brother over. But if he will not listen, take one or two others along, so that 'every matter may be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses.'  If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church; and if he refuses to listen even to the church, treat him as you would a pagan or a tax collector."

Even if this is not church related in any way, you can quite easily apply this to any similar situation and do it in the appropriate steps.

First thing, of course, is to separate and let your anger cool.

Then, you approach your friend, and inform him that he has hurt or angered you by what he has done or said.  You tell he in a calm and friendly manner to show that you were genuenly hurt, but you care enough to find a resolution.

If your friend refuses to apologize, change his mind, or seek some sort of resolution, then bring a couple of friends along and do the same thing.  The purpose of the friends being present is so that you can have a non-partisan viewpoint.  They can either agree with you and try to help you convince your friend, or they can find fault in your agrument and explain to you why your friend did what he did.

If even after that, your friend will not change, or resolve, then you have but two choices.  1. Just forget about the incident, giving it to God, and and moving on with your friendship.  2. Realize that this 'friend' won't take the consideration to treat you with the equal respect you have shown him, and as such, cannot be viewed as a true friend. All you can do is pray for him and let the incident go.

Now this is the case of a friend, but you can do the very steps for a stranger.  This helps with anger because you have made an honest effort to try and deal with that person.  You've tried to show him his error, or you tried to see if you were in error.  Once you have done this, the best way to deal with the anger is let it go.  You are still going to heaven.  Jesus Christ is still Lord.  There is nothing this person can say or do to change any of that.  So if it cannot be dealt with, then just consider it foolishness of the world and let it go.  Otherwise, it will eat you from the inside and will aggitate you more.

Just some thoughts there, but I hope it helps.

Before you make any choice regarding your anger, you first must think. If you choose to act abruptly without first considering your options, you'll most likely choose to lash out and throw punches or something. As long as you can go in there with a conscious knowledge that you might lash out you can prevent it. Once you've subdued your anger (which can be the hard part) you can then deal with the problem.
