How much data do you use on your phone

Still looking to upgrade/downgrade my phone plan but I was wondering how much data is a reasonable amount.

How much do you use each month on average and what do you do?

Thanks for your help!

I use probably an above average amount ~3Gb / month.

My plan is limited to 150MB a month, so to answer your question, "not much."

It's a pretty difficult restriction, and if I had an "Unlimited" plan I would definitely use much, much more. 2GB would be a reasonable guess.

There's a reason AT&T has their upper cap at 2GB a month, that's about the max a 'normal' user would hit, and people who use more tend to use a lot more (ie: powerusers).

I tend to use at most just over a gig a month.

no such thing as "normal" user. You learn to live inside your strictures if you have to. sprint has not limits..even then though i stay under 5 gb. I average 4 gb and that's just my normal e-mail usages along with some EMS streaming i do as well as web surfing and remote access to client networks. I use open wifi every chance i get otherwise i would use much more.

Don't buy into ATT and other carriers bullcrap. There is not a real spectrum shortage...all of them are sitting on tons of it they have not deployed yet.

I use my phone a lot, and a lot on data, from uploading pics, to playing games, to watching youtube, to streaming pandora, and I never break 1 GB. I also don't know anyone who breaks 1 GB.

I ever watch streaming video over 3G (that would be painful), but use it mostly for email, short web surfing, social media, and in-app use.

I can't remember the last time I went over a gig. But I have a legacy unlimited account that is cheaper than the new 2g/mo plans, so I'm not changing it :)

No program. That's built into Android 4 (both the data usage and screenshot taker)
Very nice!

Makes me wish Sprint would hurry up, fix their data network, and start selling the Galaxy Nexus. :p

Whats wrong with the data network currently? Or do you mean locally to you?
Well, Sprint currently uses WiMAX for 4G but is switching to LTE for future expansion as previously mentioned, so it's trying to catch up to other networks. But I was thinking of the data network in our area, which was affected by the Joplin tornado last year.

Our area isn't exactly at the top of any network's list of priorities, either. No surprise, since the metropolitan area is home to less than 500,000 people (as of the 2010 census).

Lloren: What program are you using in that screenshot?

Based on the little icon in the top right corner, I would assume that it is a feature on Android ICS, and I just checked on my Xoom, and it is there, under settings.. Doesnt work there, cause its a wifi only Xoom, so no mobile data.. :)

Cant wait till I can find a stable ICS for my Galaxy S 4G.. :p

EDIT: And of course, I didnt see the second page before I replied.. My bad.. :p

Really? I only get about 130Kps on a good day.

OUCH! I live in a rural area, and get that 2-4mbps, and don't live anywhere near a major city. Major cities are suppose to be faster too.

AT&T averages 2-4mbps for their 3G, Verizons is like 0.5-1mbps, and other carriers are in between. So no matter who you are with you should be getting at least 5-10 times more than what you are getting.

Here is confirmation: (click to view larger)
