Horde Anyone

I am making this post in hopes of finding some people that play horde. Now I know many of you will say Horde is horrible, but still, I kinda like it. I have been trying to get an invite the guild on cenarius but still cant find someone on that can do it. Basicaly what I am hoping to accomplish here is find some players that want or enjoy playing horde, so that we can mabey figure out some way to organize ourselves to play together or on one server. Just post here if you have a horde character, where, if you play it, and if you would be interested in organizing some kind of Guild or Guild Affiliate.

I have a 60 troll priest on Aegwynn. I haven't played her since I joined <Redeemed>

I was thinking that when server x-fers come out I might move her to a server with a Christian guild

I believe we have a Horde guild on Cenarius, dunno if the realm has been reopened now that you can move your characters to a different server though. Mustard Seed Conspiracy is the name, Plankeye is the Guild Masta.

Not to change subjects but Odale you said:

Can we move characters now from one server to another? Do you know something I don't?

Add Yiska to your Friends list on Cenarius. I'll try to hop on a few times this week and send you an invite if we're both on at the same time.

I played a UD mage for a long time, horde have better racials! Plus its always fun to be a cow running around on a huge mount

They plan to allow free character moves to select servers from select servers. Its on the login screen when you type your information in. Its on the left hand side of the screen.

For instance, Redeemed did not start out on Stonemaul. We came from Illidan. We could only move to Stonemaul from Illidan. No one else from the other servers could come to Stonemaul, and no one from Illidan could go to another server.

The reason I am so interested is that I want as soon as I can to move Reco from Warsong to Stonemaul when it is available. I dont believe that I am able to do that at this time. I checked last night and no date to my knowledge has been released.

I heard it was just a matter of figuring out how much to charge for the transfers and that the transfer "technology" has been in place and ready to go for some time.

You didnt put enough quotes around technology.

Here is an abundance of puncuation marks, please feel free to apply them as you see fit:

The hordies are an evil, blood-thirsty band of marauding animals! Just kidding, but seriously I don't see myself ever rolling a serious horde character because I like this guild and this server too much. Playing on another server with another guild (The cenarius guild is mostly inactive and cenarius is a PVE realm which I don't like) just doesn't appeal to me at all. Mabye if I was allowed to have a horde char on stonemaul without a second account I'd consider it, but I doubt that will ever happen.

Actually, that's a common misconception.

Since Thrall helped end the Orcs' addiction to demonic magic, the Orcs have returned to their original, shaman-led culture (at least, that's what I inferred after playing Warcraft III).

The Undead were resurrected against their will. How would you feel if you were to die in battle, then wake up with rotting gray flesh and no free will? Sylvanas Windrunner was not too pleased.

The Trolls and Night Elves may be, at some point in history, proven to stem from the same line.

And the Tauren just don't seem evil at all. In fact, they seem the most noble of all playable races, with a rich and proud culture that remains close to nature. (How that meshes with the Horde's disregard for nature, I've never understood. It's always seemed odd to me that the Tauren are aligned with the Horde.)

The interesting thing about WoW is that there really isn't a "good" and "bad" side, if you get right down to it. The Alliance and Horde both fight against the same bosses in the same instances. Yes, the two sides are at war, but war is rarely ever so simple as "Us good, them bad." We may identify more easily with the Human, Dwarf, and Gnome races (depending on your height) and with Arthurian, Norse, and Celtic mythologies, but Blizzard's done a fair job of helping Horde players empathize with their characters--provided the player pays enough attention to the character and mythology to care.

P.S. Nerf Shaman.

EDIT: But not until I get tired of playing as Yiska.

/sigh I was hoping that the "just kidding" would indicate that I don't actually follow the statement I made earlier, I'm enough of a geek that I'm fairly familiar with the warcraft backstory. That said, the horde still lean more towards evil than the alliance.

The orcs may have shaken their darker heritage to an extent, but they still lean towards violence and, in my estimation, Thrall is prettymuch the voice of reason who keeps them from falling back into their old ways.

The trolls may be related to the elves, but they themselves originate from savage ways and the darkspears, zandalar, and whatever that other tribe that has the city in the hinterlands is are the only ones to have moved away from that. Also, the darkspears changed, not out of the goodness of thier hearts, but simply out of neccesity when they needed the orcs' help.

The undead may be having a rough time, what with being killed and raised as a mindless soldier and all, but their goal is to develope genocidal bioweapons that will wipe out their non-undead counterparts. That's hardly a noble goal, and they're prettymuch the most evil race.

The taurens may lean more towards good, but they're also a bunch of hippie eco-terrorists. One of their first missions involves butchering a bunch of dwarves, just because they disagree with they archeological excavations. That, and they're a essential part of a balanced diet.

Also, the horde in general are more prone to aggressive actions. Ever notice all those camps out in the wilderness that are aligned to the alliance, but serve no purpose other than as cannon fodder for leveling hordies? Where are their horde counterparts? There may be a few, but not nearly as many in my experience.

In conclusion, both sides are shades of gray, but alliance is my side of choice, and so long as it is, I will continue to enjoy bringing righteous wrath to hordies of all levels.

P.S. If there's anyone who reads this and doesn't know the backstory, it can be found here: http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/info/story/chapter1.html

Oh, I know. :D I just used it as a starting point for my defense of the Horde.

Societies and cultures develop one step at a time. One can't expect a society to realize its errors then collectively stop those errors immediately.

Still, good points on all Horde races. The Horde is more "primal," the Alliance more "civilized." That's not to say that each race is without its tendencies toward primal or civilized behavior. Consider the backstory of Edwin VanCleef, for example. When something didn't go his way, he turned to violence. How is that different from the very behavior for which Humans criticize Orcs?

You can tell just by the fact that we're having this discussion that Blizzard has done a great job building up both sides of the story. It is a complex matter, and one that makes it fun to play either side. After all, one of my motives in continuing to play and read about WoW quests is to learn the ongoing Warcraft story.

Speaking of sides...

Does anyone know why the alliance between Jaina and Thrall fell apart? If so, please post your answer in a spoiler tag.

EDIT: Nevermind, found my answer here. It seems that Thrall and Jaina only speak for their respective jurisdictions and not for their races.
