Holiday Traditions

Genesis1315

Ladies
What do you and your family do to celebrate? Do you celebrate Advent? Do you have any traditions?

I can start.

We started celebrating Advent this year. We think it will help to give our daughter the right perspective about Christmas.

We also get subs for dinner on Christmas Eve. This started because my husband and I procrastinated our first two Christmases and found we had all of our presents to wrap on Dec 24. ACK!!! So, we chose an easy dinner to have the first year and repeated it the 2nd year. I think the tradition stuck. Well, not the part about procrastinating

Our large meal is on Christmas Day.

Since this is our 3rd Christmas together we are still discovering other things that may or may not become traditions.

Right perspective as in worshipping the sun god?
Because that is Christmas' origin. Hehe.
But, seriously, ( even though I was serious, as in that was it's origin. ) we don't do many traditions, except that we get together with our cousins and one of our grandmothers for Christmas, then we get together on Christmas Eve with the grandmother on the other side.

Off topic:

Not really cute or funny. Christmas is a Christian holiday is our household. We could celebrate it at any point of the year (if we need to go down that path, I would recommend starting another topic), but it is still celebrating the birth of our Saviour. Yes, I understand the history of Yule. 'Twas a wiccan for many years before coming to the Truth. Perhaps that is why Christmas and Easter are so precious to me. (again, no comments needed on the history of Easter either)
