Heresy in churches has to an extent except in years prior been overlooked. I recently read an article about this very subject an it was very disturbing that professing Christians can allow these sort of abominations. To briefly touch on the subject, it was opened with a bit about a well known United Methodist bishop who publicly denies that Jesus is eternally divine and the only means of salvation. "This man has been charged four times with preaching heresies and been acquitted of all charges. It also includes Episcopal bishop Jack Spong who throughtout his ministry denied almost every line of the Nicene Creed(see below). This is not just singling out these denominations but goes on to say examples can be taken from many denominations Congregational, Lutheran, Presbyterian and others." After I read this article I really looked and said what has happened to our churches when we allow preachers and teachers to teach that same sex marriages are fine, that Christ is not the Son of God, that the Word of God is not inherent, and infallible. And people wonder why our country and the world is in such moral depravity.
