I bought battlefield 2 the other day and I installed it.
Come to find out when I play it the textures are so bad, a humvee looks like a tan block! I even took the gamspot "Can you run it" test and it said I could run it! What do I do?! 50 bucks is a lot of money so if you could help please do! I just need to know how I can fix this....and yes, I already fiddled around with the settings.

CPU: Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.53GHz
RAM: 511.0 MB
OS: Microsoft Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2 (Build 2600)
Video Card: RADEON 9700 PRO (RADEON 9700 AGP (0x4E44))
Sound Card: Unimodem Half-Duplex Audio Device

That video card is on the low end for a game like Battlefield 2. You would also see a difference by increasing your RAM to 1 GB. Other than that, not much you can change.

Time for a video card and memory upgrade. I had 1GB of memory and a 9800Pro and had to play on medium to low settings. I'm at 2GB and a 6800GS now and it's silky smooth on high settings.

Yah but thats way expensive!
Plus I have it on low and it shouldn't look like this.....lets put it this way, the palm trees look like green triangles. I uninstalled the game also because there was something bad in it. When I started it up, it would say " please _DO_ upgrade shaders _AND_ somethin somethin somethin" and at the end it said "(Really!)".

Try to download the latest drivers for your video card. uninstall the old ones before installing the new ones.

I'm running a 9600 pro and I have no issues with it. The only difference I see is that I have 1gb of ram and an older card. :) I mean, I do get laggy in some spots but it's playable.
