Help with servers

Every time i try to join a game on most servers, it starts normally with the console, but then the screen goes blank afterwards and does not do anything. then i have to stop the process from my comp. how do i fix it?

no, it just goes blank and stays that way until i close it from windows.

What is your hardware specs for your comp? Also, please list your OS and any software you have running in the background. We will be able to help you out a lot more with that info.

are you running open_gl, direct 3D or software settings?

i run d3d w/ a nvidia geforce 3 ti video and windows xp pro... sound blaster audigy gamer for sound card

This may be nothing to do with it but have you downloaded the new WON serverlist....Check out the server forums for the link if not..

I think its the cd key prob.... at least thats what my cuz said... anyways... im gonna change it..

are you running HL in Soft ware it self that may be the problem.

If anything go back to defualt settings 600X480 (Software rendering) bad frames but it may fix the problem

Or just Try to use it in OpenGl Format and let the game auto use whatever it wants for that.

D3D is stinky. use OpenGL...

I defenitely think its a GPU problem, tho. just my two cents.
