Hello:

I just got Mandrake 9.2 and was wondering if anyone was willing to help me setup my dsl on it...The thing is that i'm using a router right now that is auto detected by windows but i'm not sure how to set it up in linux and was wondering if anyone of you knows anything about it.

Second help question: is it possible to play cs on linux?? how would i go setting it up?

thx...

It was boatloads of fun for me, I'm currently in the process of replacing the wireless router in my house with an older computer running netbsd.

Kind of an old topic, but I use Mandrake and Red Hat and also use DSL so I could probably help you if you still need it... All my contact info is at the bottom of this post.

oh yes the joys of running linux
i'm currently upgrading every portion of linux...my old kernel and my old version of x, kde, gnome, and pretty much every app i use is going to the wayside...
but gotta love it when you don't have to restart your computer every 2 hours like you do with windows.

in fact, i boot knoppix at school instead of windows xp...the joy of having a full os on cd

Every two hours? Huh? I had my secondary PC running thirty days straight on Windows XP. *g* Windows 98 might have been poo in terms of memory management but the memory management in both Windows 2000 and XP are far, far beyond 98 and even further beyond Millenium Edition (also known as Mistake Edition).

Oh, and my secondary PC's thirty-day reign was ended only because someone threw a breaker and shut off all power to my room. I even kept it going through several thunderstorms thanks to a nice, huge, shiny APC UPS unit.

well that's where you got me...i'd be running what is known as the Mistake Edition.

but really...i've never had luck with any version of windows...except for 95. but it wound up eventually succombing to the windows curse after 5 years.

I hope to download Mandrake soon......

Only thing is that I need an HTTP mirror. Can anyone get that for me?

My friend recently got slackware linux. However he is a linux n00blet but i think he'll do alright. Just in case though, i hooked him up with redhat 9.0

I /wanted/ HTTP only because it was 10 KB faster than FTP...but that has all changed now that I called my router company. I already have Mandrake CD 1 downloaded and Knoppix 3.3
