Guild WvW

What would you guys think about doing an all in guild WvW assault before this beta weekend ends?

If so what times are best for everyone?

So it is official. WvW raid tonight.

We are going all in so whatever you got dump it into this push.

We are starting at 9:00 Eastern.

Come early so we can organize ourselves and have an exact number on what kind of coin we got to spend collectively. Servers are getting wiped after this weekend so you can't take anything with you. Time to go ALL IN.

Convert it into your time zone:

Just wanted to say good work to all those involved in WvW last night. We kept the pressure on them and made each team act more defensively giving our server time to mount an offense against vulnerable positions.
That gave our server a shot at going 1-1 instead of 0-2.

I know I learned a LOT from our experience in WvW and I hope you did as well. I can't wait to get back in and play some more GW2 and continue our WvW crusade.

I continued WvW for the rest of the night and actually managed to capture a keep and a couple supply depots. I was even able to claim a supply depot for LoE!! I'll put screens up in a little bit.

That is awesome!

Did we ever break the 250 marker on the 5 minute score cycle?

Not sure, I jumped over to Tarnished Coast map and didn't pay too much attention to that. What does that signify anyway?

Basically every 5 minutes we get points added to our total. 250 is the majority points if all 3 worlds are in a close race. Technically it's just difficult to break that when all worlds are active.

While we were all playing we got it up to 240.

Ahh I see, so if we're losing we want to reach 250 and if we're winning we want to stay above 250. More or less.

That is awesome! You da man, fearless leader. You'll have to teach us how.

Cool, I'd like to try more WvW once the game goes live. I tried it for a little bit and there seemed to be a lot of things to do in the area, but I just got frustrated because I really didn't understand what I was doing and the game was so unbalanced.

I queued for WvWvW, but it never would let me in until I was getting ready to go sign off for sleep. So I never got to try it.

Sitting hours in a queue to try out WvWvW was not fun.
Fortunately, the PvE is lots of fun.

For now. We'll have to see what exactly they are good for, I know for banners, items, armor, etc., and if it makes sense to have one permanent emblem we can all rally behind or if we will adopt the bi-annual cape contest from GW1 that SoE had.

Well, I experienced a lot of WvW time in the last two Beta events. #3 was far, the best! I know, I will be hitting on this when I am able. My son Rev, & several folks from KoTC Guild will be helping out in this field as well.

Was a Blast grouping with members of ToJ in #3

I've read different opinions on this and it is a subjective but here is what I gather on how many players in general (and most efficiently) it takes to capture a point. Obviously the more enemy players involved the more skill, siege, and team mates it's going to take.

Supply Camp: 5-15
Tower: 20-30
Keeps: 40-70
Stone Mist Castle: 100-UP

An advantage we could get would be what one of my buddies call rope-a-dope.

Basically every time a battle occurs in WvW it is marked on the map. So we could distract them on one end of the map by sending a small scouting part to attack supply camps or Supply Yaks while the larger force captures more valuable points.

How we engage WvW as a guild will really just depend on how many people are willing to volunteer a night or two.
