In an interview with Rubi from Massively the next chapter in Guild Wars beyond has been scheduled to be released before Wintersday. So we should be seeing some new content... plus "the wedding". Maybe its Gwen or maybe its the Emperor. Idk. Plus the new awesome costumes that we are going to get. (yeah for top hats) Anyway hopefully some good loot and expansion of the story will be coming our way. :)
 
Any guesses on who the new *surprise* hero will be?

Thackary? he'll see Gwen's wrath first hand through eotn quests
Something factions story related?
Undead Rurik? he'll come with kilroy stoneskin's shout, spam heal sig/frenzy, and run towards the holy damage
Mad King? Dialog for this year's halloween quests indicated some type of "permanent" return for him
A sylvari? only race we don't have; but can't make sense due to timeline
Ventari? in reference to the above
Someone mentioned in Ghosts of Ascalon? Could help Blimm build the golem's eye

What I really want - ability to add your alts as heroes, minus pve skills

Idk what Gwen would be doing in Cantha, especially for her wedding, I'm assuming it'll probably be the Emperor. Plus, the name gives the location away, if we didn't already have the information: Winds of Change, Jade Wind, Cantha, Factions.

As for the hero, it's something we won't expect. I think the biggest curve ball they could throw at us is something like Undead Rurik, but that would be a horrible spoiler if you decided to play with someone who is still in Ascalon. Aside from that, I'm thinking only of Cantha, maybe a Shirokin turned good. Or maybe it's Vizu! That would be awesome! I've heard rumors about it being a sin. I can see Vizu coming out of her rest to kill with us, again. Or maybe we could even choose which T-Temple ghost we wanted to have as a hero, that seems horribly complicated, and unlikely, but that's where my money is. Since it has to do with the Winds of Change, Wind=Shiro, we will need someone who was there when the Jade Wind happened, or caused it to happen, IE. Vizu, in order to change it.


PS. I'm also putting money down that the reward weapons will go into the HoM like the Oppressor weapons. Just saying.
 
Don't remember where, but the lead content designer has made a few posts in random places, one of which was something along the lines of: "random tidbit- the new hero will neither be an assassin nor a ranger".
 
I like where you guys are going, makes sense it would be a factions related toon, and that it would be an assassin or rit, since those are the professions there. Vizu would be great, and they could add a mini to cause much crying from the people who just bought a ded one for 1200e.

One idea I didn't mention 'cause I thought it was silly: Shiro. Then I thought about how the WiK stuff requires proph or eotn to be beaten. I assume there will be a similar requirement for Cantha. So, my new off-the-wall guess is Shiro. Shiro Crit Barrage FTW!

Vizu would be awesome, though.
 
I think I read somewhere that we're going to keep seeing more of Gwen, Thackery, and his army in the Guild Wars Beyond content... even though it's Cantha and Elona.

My predictions on the wedding: Gwen and Thackery (because who else in GW do we care about seeing getting married?) and Princess Salma and... er... somebody important... in a double wedding. Or Menhlo and Cynn!?!?

My hopes for the hero: Gwen & Thackery's or Menhlo and Cynn's kid... Me I would like to see a Sylvari break through before they're a fullblown race in GW2. But I would settle for a rogue destroyer.

I thought of Shiro as well, but that goes back to the spoiler alert.
Plus didn't we finally destroy him in NF? I know we stopped him once in Factions, and again in NF.
I think he's done, unless they bring him back again for WoC, but that just seems too much for me, I would be slightly upset. I'm thinking it's more along the lines of restoring the Jade Sea and begin reuniting the Luxons/Kurzicks/Canthans/restoring the empire.
 
LOL, you guys still haven't mentioned the top guess from the Guru threads. And to be honest, I think they're right.

Things we know based on various Developer and Test Krewe statements

A profession that we still only have 2 available of (Sin, Rit, Paragon, Mesmer)

....a dev has said Assassin is out (Rit, Paragon, Mesmer)

.....Factions related (Rit)

..... Devs have stated it is a character we know and are familiar with.

.....Test Krewe knows who it is and although they are sworn to secrecy many have said they were surprised and shocked when they found out.

So, a well-known NPC Ritualist character with nothing better to do. Rits deal primarily with ghosts and even one of the introductory Ritualist monastery headmasters is a ghost. So you shouldn't be surprised to end up with a ghostly hero (pun intended).

Come on, spoiler free, who do you think it's gonna be??
 
SWEET!! I have all the stuff from the campaigns to EoTN and the bonus packs. :) Never played them all but I have them...LOL
 
*sigh*So much to do, so little time. Why, O Why did I restart my Sacred Gold addiction?
 
I'm a little disappointed - so far. Just done the first three - normal and hard modes. Seems like just more of the same. it wasn't until the third quest - hard mode - that I even had to stop and think - I died and had to be careful and pull and flag to get through the mob.

Not nearly as different or fun as the War in Kryta. But, we'll see where they go with it.
