GUILD MEETING WEDNESDAY JAN 11TH: Postponed

There will be a voluntary guild-wide meeting on January 11th at 7:30 PM EST.

The reason for this is two fold-- first, I have heard from more than one person that the folks who tend to play earlier may feel marginalized because both myself and the other two active officers happen to play much later most nights. This concerns me in part because I feel like I must have done a poor job of explaining what options are available, but also partly because we need someone (or some people) to step up and volunteer to help organize activities that may start earlier. Secondly, I wanted to hear from you all about your ideas on how we can use SoE to promote Christ within GW. I'd like to build on the success of our Christmas Caroling night and try out some other ideas.

As I am working nights right now, I will be unable to attend, but Loew will be running the meeting in my place. Please feel free to use this meeting as a chance to voice your opinions to leadership, firstly on the issues noted above, and secondly, on anything else that is on your mind.

Being a christian organization, most people here will have church on wednesdays. And this being a fun game, if you promote events for this game on wednesday nights, it will tempt people to stay home from church to particpate in the event. Although with christain people, I believe we must put our church first.

Well, assuming everyone goes to a traditional church, where wednesday night is the quintessential "weeknight of meeting" or whatever. I haven't been to a church that had wednesday night services since I was 10 years old or so. We've had small group bible studies at various nights during the week. Usually my church's groups meet on thursdays, but others meet on wednesdays and tuesdays as well...

There's not really a way of making this thing fit everyone's schedules. Just make it late enough at night that everyone can at least be there for a little bit, before they go to bed.

there will be no "perfect" time to hold a meeting, the closest thing possible would be a multithread forum, and you have to consider that some people prefer to just "ride it out" and not participate in legislative and executive decisions.

NOOOO!!! My B-time on school nites is 9 o clock!!

I hear everyone.

We'll do it some other time-- the idea was to be inclusive, and the only time one of the officers could be there this week was on a day that would exclude many of us.

We'll come up with another time soon. In the mean time, Derk will post the agenda in a separate thread. Locking this thread and stickying it until Thursday.
