Redeemed Guild Meeting Minutes

Bannard opened in prayer. He asked prayer for God’s guidance.

He established that he’s the leader of the guild, and that all decisions, choices and complaints come down to him.

He also pointed out that the guild was established as a Christian community, and to Christ we will return.

Bannard brought up that the pursuit of loot in the game can be considered the same as that of real money in the real world and we need to guard our hearts from allowing it to become a master over us. As Christians we need to resist the temptation of greed and try to practice generosity whenever possible.

The greatest gift we have is love, and to love our neighbors. “Actions and words that are not loving have no place here [in this guild]”

“Actions and words have the fruit of the spirit in them, and they are not boastful, proud, etc.(1 Corinthians 13:1-13)”

The guild will operate on 3 fundamental foundations:

First foundation of the guild is: Christianity. Being we are a Christ centered guild, we must remember to behave as Christ would expect us to even in character.

Second foundation is: Love 1 Corinthians 13(1-13) pretty much sums up how we need to treat our fellow players.

Third foundation is: Fellowship and Worship – we are to encourage and uplift each other
Activities will be planned to promote fellowship and worship. Examples of these activities: Sermons, Bible studies, Guild fellowship runs. etc.
Efforts to attend these promotions (meetings) will be required for continued membership.
Children will not be required to attend, because they are limited to the authority of their parents (and not the guild).
Spouses will not be required to attend all meetings. As long as 1 spouse attends it counts for both.

Roundtable discussions:

1.expected behaviour of our members
2.how we are going to handle disputes
3.guild wealth
4.ideas for teambuilding activities than can help involve everyone in the guild
5.what to expect at future guild meetings
6.set goals for the guild

Open discussion. Expected Behavior. Bowser tells that he loves everyone, and has prayed for the guild often.
Litsafalda addresses concern, and tells everyone that they don’t show their love very well. She asks everyone to show their love, and to open their hearts.
Odale expresses concern about getting home from work and to get on WoW to relax. He’s very tired when he gets home, and so we should be considerate of families and working people.
Bannard shares the letter Tracy (Tenacity) wrote to him. She says that we need to be more of a GIVING guild, rather than a TAKING guild.
It was agreed that greed, selfishness, self centered behavior and being rude or condescending to our fellow guildmates has no place here. Discipline measures up to and including banning will be put in place if necessary. It is expected that members behave with love and respect towards one another. We are to try to be as good samaritans to one another.

Guild policy in resolving disputes: If you have an issue with a member, try to settle the dispute personally. If it cannot be resolved between the offending party bring in a disciple or council member from the guild to assist in resolving the dispute. If this doesnt work then bring the dispute before Bannard. If the dispute includes a disciple or counselor, then address Bannard first.

Both Deborrah and Odale pointed out the “funnel” of authority. They didn’t like how only a handful of people had control of the guild. Deborrah suggested that ranks be set up to encourage all to have a job in the guild. For example: one person be in charge of greeting people, another making clothes for the guild (tailoring), another setting up instances, etc, etc. It was agreed to have people post suggestions in the forums this week and we will discuss fine tuning the ranking system again during next weeks meeting.

Also the nomination of council members and disciples were discussed. These members are chosen by nomination in the guild. If you feel someone you trust should be a disciple or counsel members please let Bannard know who you nominate. Bannard will be taking nominations through this week.

Deborrah also expressed the need for all to ensure they have access to the forums at www.toj.cc/wow. and that as members of the guild everyone checks them at least once a week as that is where all important information is communicate including guild guidelines.

A concern was expressed for some of the co-leaders who weren't in attendance. It is vital that those in a position of authority in the guild attend as many guild meetings as possible. We (the guild) look forward to seeing them and also feel it is important they are aware of the concerns and decisions made at these meetings.

The meeting began to run very late so it was agreed we adjourn untill next week at which time we will cover points 3-6 of the roundtable discussion. (see above)

Bowser closed in prayer, asking that we can always remain humble, as friends to each other, as to be the Christians we need to be, and that our guild can be the type of Christian community it needs to be.

i understand that as many ppl as could should of been there just remember that Wensday is a church night for many ppl and i know Melko usually goes to church when he can, and i am down in AR with church and do not get back till late. i would suggest for future dates/meetings we try to do it on a monday/tues night maybe.

I know Wednesday are bad for me. Tuesdays may conflict with members who have to attend the ToJ Staff meetings. Mondays sound good.

One thing that was missed in the notes, that I have in mine, is that making all them is an unreasonable expectation. Most people should be able to make most of them. Right now Chivah puts on a sermon on Wednesdays, but that will not be the only opportunity.

Activities will be planned through out the week, it could be something like everybody in the guild heading down to STV to go for the chest on a monday, or a prayer meeting on Sunday on Cenarias, or a bible study on a saturday. They are meant to be team building and interactive activities that every body could participate regardless of skill or level.

The idea is to be as flexible as possible to allow for real life commitments. Sure, LoJ has church functions on Wednesday, but can make it to something on Saturday. Hey, wow, LoJ is making the effort to be involved in the Christian aspect of the guild that is reasonable for him to get to.

Some will scheduled, mondays and Wednesdays, but that doesn't mean that somebody doesn't come up with an idea that we could do next Friday.

One thing missing from notes...... RESPECT.... it has been lacking lately. That's why my suggestion to have LOVE and RESPECT as the second foundation.
Blessings,"Angel"
